Especially because it seems to be a loop: he kills the burglar’s dog, comes home to find a new dog on the doorstep, burglar kills his dog, he gets mad, it goes back to the start

Theory time since I'm only 5 minutes in the video and I want to take a guess: His dog already died and he's gone insane, he killed the person who killed his dog at the start and started hallucinating about his dog being at his door in a cage. He takes his "dog" in, but what he doesn't know is that on those walks that last an entire day, he's actually robbing people and doesn't even notice due to how insane he's gone. Probably wrong, but I saw games like this so I'm assuming that's the general idea. It could also be that he was hallucinating about the past all over again (Or repeating time over and over and over again.)

Me too I've seen most of my beloved pets pass throughout childhood and still do. We have a lot of pets but they are all special and unique in their own ways.

My take on this is that the guy already had a dog with the same name as his dog which is why he said “I don’t wanna lose dd AGAIN”, After the burglar kills his dog, He takes revenge by killing the bruglar’s dog, While the burglar is out getting another dog for the guy as sorry (dog cage with the note saying SORRY.) And it turned into an endless loop of everything happening again(Bloody shirt at beginning, Bloody shirt at the end.) OR, the burglar that broke into his him twice was two different people (Hence why he said “I did n-“ before the guy cut him off.), One a burglar who killed the dog and the other a regular burglar who didn’t kill his dog, So he killed the latter’s dog while the latter was out possibly robbing another house, While the former got another dog for him out of guilt.

So this is my theory He (the guy that we play as) did say that he didnt want to lose Dd again,then the burglar kill his dog,He want a revenge and kill the burglar's dog,and when he back home,he saw a dog cage,and i think the burglar who killed his dog put that there,also it make more sense why his cloth we're covered at the start of the game :) Edit:So it's kinda like looping :)
