Seriously one of the most epic concerts ever! Death included some deeper cuts like 1000 Eyes, A Moment of Clarity (what a way to finish before encores), Empty Words and Story To Tell. And South American crowds are always the best. The reactions for Pull the Plug alone confirms that statement. R.I.P. Scott and Chuck! Life is great, Death is better!

+Chalres Leavenworth sound of persaverance is way harder than anything sean or gene were doing. love both of those guys but the shit Christy does fills and beats are more complex. I play drums in a death cover band and the christy stuff is the hardest. I think the final album says it all

This band changed my entire life!!

What a performance, what a audiance. It's the first time i watch this record and made me sentimental while watching as a Death fan. Record has great quality on both sound and video, you can clearly hear all instruments and Chuck's vocal. They don't have fancy stage shows and don't need any. The songs they play are just masterpieces in lyrics and musically. Comparing to ''metal'' bands of nowadays and ''noise mass'' they play, all i can say is thank you Evil Chuck for bringing true music to us. R.I.P.

Nunca volvi a ver de lleno el teatro Caupolican como esa vez, mas aun 10 lucas, 4 bandas, Dorso, Incantation, Cannibal Corpse y Death, tengo plastificada la colilla de la entrada, Death solo vino a Chile, despues se fue a Japon, por ende el unico pais sudamericano donde Death realizo un recital de manera oficial fue en Chile, por algo fue y siempre sera asi, 12 años que fallecio Chuck Shuldinner pero su legado musical en el Death metal nunca morira, P/D:sacaron la fuente de soda La Colonia, hoy en dia hay un taller de Bicicletas en 10 de julio con san diego, antes de entrar me tome 8 escudos de litros en esa fuente de soda, que recuerdos, saludos.

Death, objetivamente la mejor banda del metal extremo. Los riff guardan equilibrio entre tecnicismo y atractivo (no aburren y son memorables), sonaba pesado, sonaba agresivo, sonaba inteligente, un trabajo minucioso que no se chacreó al punto de ser aburridiiisimo y pretencioso como algunas bandas dentro de los géneros técnicos y progresivos. Chuck un genio.

The first and best

I cannot begin to put into words how amazing this show was it nearly brought me to tears seeing the crowd chant and clap the whole thing gave me goosebumps. It also puts a big smile on my face seeing people head bang it up, Chuck's screams were so monstrous as well and the sounds were clean, this show was top notch long live Death and the shredding heavy metal master Chuck Shuldiner!!

no lo conocí en persona, tampoco lo vi en vivo y ni siquiera hubiese podido hacerlo (tenía 3 años en ese entonces)...pero por alguna razón lo extraño demasiado. Realmente hubiese pagado lo que fuera por haber estado allí esa noche, y escuchar a una de mis principales influencias. Rest in Peace Chuck, you're not dead...YOU ARE DEATH!!!!!

sinceramente amigo fue sobrecogedor. sonaron todas las bandas muy bien esa noche caníbal sonó mejor que en sus discos y Death increíble a los solos de chuk le ponian un deleay que hacía rebotar las notas por todo el recinto fue increíble creo que para esa ocasión hubo el doble de amplificación porque jamas sonó saturado. saludos

Yo también era muy chica el 98 y lamento no haber estado. Creo que la búsqueda musical de Chuck prometía tanto y lo pedimos!

Tremendo SET LIST, El padre del death metal R.I.P. Nunca me cansaré de escuchar los trabajaos que dejó esta banda. Muy buen video hermanos Chilenos, saludos desde Ecuador.

1998 que gran año, llenamos el monumental porque así se llamaba en esos años, varias veces, la gira del roots, Pantera etc. la venida de Death que si estuvo en Brasil, porque al otro se le olvidan cosas que a mi no, estábamos en primera fila, el vocalista de Incantation bajó del escenario entre nosotros para ir a la mesa de sonido, un show impecable, empezó tipo 19:30 hrs y Death se bajó después de las 02:00 hrs am, uno de los mejores show que he visto en mi vida, eso fue los 21, hoy tengo 41 y todavía lo recuerdo, falté incluso a la pega por ir con mis amigos.. años después tuve el honor de conocer en persona al mejor amigo de Chuck, el señor Steve Digiorgio, una gran persona, bueno y al resto de los Sadus, que esa vez tocaron en la Laberinto..

No estuvo en Brasil amigo la única fecha para suramerica fue en Santiago de chile aquel día, tuve hasta una polera del último disco a la fecha que era el "the sound of per...." y llevaba impresas en la espalda todas las fechas, la gran mayoría eran en USA y la única aca en stgo. y que por supuesto asistí a ese show y a uno en la noche anterior en la batuta en donde no toco pero si fue con miembros de la banda y las otras bandas q teloneaban si lo hicieron slds.

yo era el inteprete de Death en Chile, y ese dia estuve en el escenario tambien limpiando todas las weas de papel que tiraban al escenario.. el gordito al lado de lo atriles era su tour manager, y el atado que hubo, es que justo antes que Death comenzara a tocar,se rompió uno de los atriles de bateria y no habia de donde reempalzarlo, asi que ese gallo tuvo que estar todoel show ahi afirmando las weas pa que la bateria no se desarmara, jajaja... ese dia todo lo que podia salir mal, salio mal :/

Así fue amigo yo estuve ahí tengo 37 años cuando vinieron era un chico de 20 años desde marzo de 1998 se sabía que venían fue una espera eterna pero para mi fue el mejor recital que he visto y vi muchos. lejos death una banda que trasciende el tiempo.

awesome set list, watchable video, sound quality better than most live recordings. was wondering whether a professional cut of this performance was ever released, or had ever been available for purchase at some point. there were quite a few cameramen moving around and catching different angles of chuck playing guitar and singing, and scott and shannon rocking out and solo-ing, with richard christy being closely monitored as well. i was hoping that there was a version of the show that had been edited by the film crew to include the closeups and camera work on stage. otherwise i guess all of the people running around on stage with microphones is for naught.

Tremendo músico Chucky! Que pedazo de banda Death. Los conocí el 87 y los he escuchado gran parte de mi vida. Y sigo sorprendiéndome de lo poco convencional que fué Chuck. Tenía un estilo tan propio para tocar e interpretar. No he visto algo similar. Gigante Death.!!

En el 98 tenia 25 años y cuando tenia 15 años escuche el Scream Bloody Gore... El Metal Fest 98 es un recuerdo inolvidable... y el legado de Death me acompaña hasta el dia de hoy...

Tal cual.y desearia que existiera un registro del show de pantera teloneando a kiss en el velodromo(o pista atletica)del nacional.ese show es mi numero 1 en cuanto a cercania,sonido,intensidad y poder(y eso que he visto cientos)pero el primero(y también el segundo) de pantera y el de death en chile no tienen comparación.registros historicos😼

Nao existe nem comentários para essa banda lendária. Melhor show que ja vi pelo youtube. R.I.P mestre Chuck e Scott. Charles era um gênio. Pra mim ninguem o supera musicalmente falando. As letras e as composições das guitarras são impressionantes. Muito feeling. Técnica e rapidez absurda.

me emocioné hasta las lágrimas con la ovación del público en Pull the Plug, a Chuck justamente se lo notó feliz y motivado al sentir como la gente se volvió loca. Simplemente increíble. Death para siempre.
