Death is a Gift for the Living

www.borderpoint.com/blog
While modern and materialist culture sees death as something to be feared and abhorred, faith teaches us that death is but a doorway to truth and eternity, and that it is in fact a gift which gives meaning and purpose to life and living.
In this excerpt from Awakenings Academy (www.borderpoint.com/academy), I discuss the Islamic perspective on death and share how embracing and preparing for death makes life meaningful, the relationship between sleep and death, the key to spiritual awakening by making use of the sacred power of the night, how to cultivate light in our hearts, and more.

Very interesting points. Especially cultivating light in the heart during the night worship. Detaching from dunya and attaching to the spiritual life. Amazing

If you spend a lot of time alone, you can do this 247, and maintain a higher state of consciousness, even while going about daily tasks.

Beautifully said! Purifying the heart is key to generating peace. Peace is one step short of awakening/enlightenment. It can be hard to be alone but I'm learning much through solitude. Thanks for the video!

Inspiring insights, thank you for sharing the light Ihsan. A new viewer and recent experiencer of the rich tradition of Islam, Sufism and regarding Allah (SWT) from a new holistic point of view, I’m coming from Christianity and progressing further and it is wonderful to see that God is one in all 🙏 Death is a gift, dark night of the soul, it’s a being mesmerized by the night sky full of divine glimmer and becoming still with Allah. Waw, much love

Transition from human life is not a dark night of the soul. That is something you go through here, that initiates true spiritual awakening.

"To transcend the physical world." SubhanAllah! :) Any advice on how to remain in the state of transcendence when you have to engage in very demanding "wordly" commitments? That sometimes drains so much of your time and energy that it feels like you are stealing moments to worship (which should be our main focus)

Thanx for these positive ideas. Rational mind like my humble ass, must understand that TIME spent in SLEEP, MEDITATION or PRIERES, don't count. I mean : this time is not substracted to your life time. Peace & love
