It was always a fascinating idea that Pauline & Juliet would meet again as old women, but now Juliet has passed I wonder if the other knows?

@@Anon-jd9jf Pauline's sister said that she is a very reclusive person, who has no TV, radio or contact with the outside world. I would really like to know if Pauline knows that there is a film about her life and that Juliet became a famous writer. But as she is a recluse who lives in the middle of nowhere, I find it a little difficult for her to know these things.

@@danihellen. Pauline's sister lives in New Zealand, so I doubt that she knows that much about Pauline's life. I also read that she had no TV, but that's doesn't stop her from reading. Her neighbours and friends from her village said to the press that she loves books.

@@Anon-jd9jf Pauline's sister said this in 1997 (when Pauline was discovered). Pauline made a statement and asked her sister to speak on her behalf. I know she likes to read but she knows Juliet Hulme. Many people read Anne Perry's books but had no idea who she was, so …

I think that too. When she left New Zealand she immediately went to England and we know that Juliet is from England. And when she was discovered, she moved to Scotland, right where Juliet was living at the time. It seems crazy but I think it's a lot of coincidence.

How accurate was the movie? I really liked the movie, but Perry said that she didn’t like it and it was inaccurate.

After 20 years of research about this case I can tell you that the movie is quite accurate. Some minor inaccuracies are: In reality Pauline was limping slightly. Juliet's hair wasn't as light blonde as Kate Winslet's, but had a reddish tinge to it. Also, Juliet was a head taller than Pauline. They didn't model clay figures. Juliet was diagnosed with TBC during holidays (in the film it's a school day). And it's a legend that the two were forbidden to ever see each other again after prison; there never was such a condition. The rest is very accurate.

@@MrMcsia Juliet never liked the film referencing lesbianism. She said their friendship was obsessive but not sexual. The accounts from Pauline's diary imply otherwise..

Another inacuracy was that Honorah, Pauline's mother, was much more repressive in real life, and Pauline didn't quite her school by herself. Was Honorah that retired Pauline, saying that the school was nutering her obsessive relationship with Juliet.

@@thesolitudethey were obviously lovers, because you can read Pauline's journals throughout. I feel much more sorry for parker. It was her own mother firstly, she was over awed with Juliet and her family, lifestyle etc. Whilst Juliet always had the option to move on to bigger and better things. Obsessive relationships like that are dangerous
