Fun fact - this song samples rumble by Link Wray. The song was one of the first ever recordings of a distorted electric guitar, which was created by poking holes in certain parts of the amp. When the song first came out, it was banned because people though that it would cause gang violence because of the distortion, as nobody had heard a sound like that before. So, basically, death grips is a Christian band.

this was the first death grips song i heard in like 2013 or 2014. i was watching a WoW streamer named wildlands, because he fit into every niche i was looking for. this was when twitch streamers could actually play music on their streams, and he had this song on his playlist. i was absolutely awestruck, coming from the hardcore/metal community. it was so fucking different in every way i wanted it to be.

When he finally presented his project he talked about how absurd a lot of the suggestions were (like the uptown funk beat with the reese's puff rap, etc.) but then he started to talk about which songs triggered him that were sent to him and then displayed of one of those songs. These were the lyrics. Personally I fucking love the Death Grips songs that use old school rock samples. Songs like this, I Want It I Need It and Death Grips (Next Grips) are some of my favourite tracks in the band's discography.
