Death Becomes Her - Deleted Scenes Explained - Ernest Flees to the Bar

Фильм және анимация

Extended Scene of Lisle, Mad and Hel outside the castle
Deleted Scene of Ernest fleeing to the bar asking for Toni's help. Madeline and Helen at the mansion looking for Ernest. Ernest & Toni duping the ladies by dressing the dead drunk in Ernest's clothes.
Please have a little respect for the creator and these videos. Don't dislike please. It was a lot of work to make and nobody ever bothered collecting everything together before so maybe show a bit more love. If you expected the full scenes to be here I´m sorry, but that's not happening. They are vaulted at Universal and will most likely never see the light of day.

Man this movie is wayy more deep than the comedy they made it out to be,its almost like they botch it on purpose to avoid those on the Hollywood nasty rumours Also makes sense for ernest to have dropped the bottle,he fell through and glass ceiling and slashed his arm

An extra thought on Toni: a bartender is not supposed to let their customers drink themselves to death just to make an extra buck. They're supposed to cut people off when they drink too much. That Toni let the drunkard guy drunk himself unconscious for a long time, knows everything about his life and family, then actually witnesses his death, thinks nothing of it, and happily finds a quick way to make it useful... All this sort of makes Toni look like she may be a serial killer. Is Ernest safe with her? What is it about Ernest. It's like all the women he ever dates, turn out to be homicidal maniacs.

They should just have had Ernest AND Rose be at the bar in the first scene and in the third act... and have Ernest open his heart to Rose instead of Toni. They have the immense urge to flee the house everyday to get some moments peace from Madeline for a few hrs. Rose (even her name hints to her being a good person) should have been the heart in this film. They still could have kept Tracey Ullman but just as a outsider who helps them, and Rose helps Ernest escape.

@@XanArt21 I like it. It's true that if they had Rose, they should have used her. Her story is already bizarre. Starts as a theater employee in NY, then 14 years later, an elite maid in LA? There's gotta be some kind of a backstory that explains this change of positions so radical it's miraculous. It's a miracle! :D Because if there was never any backstory, why'd they even do it, right? Shame the team doesn't share about the creation of this movie and what they were doing. So many weird decisions in the production!

@@tatik8682I just always took Rose as a woman who started as Madeline's dresser and got "promoted" to being her live-in help/confidante. Kind of like a combo of Birdie from All about Eve and Carol Ann from Mommie Dearest.

i remember there was videos of those deleted scenes but only on those old vhs u may see them, i remember watching a scene where both women didnt age anything just exact the same like too bored😅somewhere overseas . but wasn’t funny scene was just like sentimental and for what Goldie Hawn said s bcuz the scene s sentimental and not funny was deleted and they needed to make again the ending but in this case both were so ugly like the actually ending we know. is sad only we read captions but no scenes😅im pretty sure exist just may youtube dont allowed or people didnt put their old vhs saved , im 1000% sure i watched those scenes when i was a child also the actors being interviewed 😅

You remember where the women were sitting specifically (for confirmation) and what they were wearing? Someone claimed the original ending was broadcast on tv... but they don't remember which channel (it might have been sci fi channel). It was shown after the credits as an extra little bit including a little making of so you might be right. People check your vhs tapes 😅

So there was another act still to play out but it was cut. Still I’d be pretty pissed off if I got cast in a movie only to be cut out of it with only a fragment of my performance left in the trailer.

Yes she had 3 scenes, big ones... One after Madeline rips up the card at the salon Ernest goes to his favorite bar and Toni offers him comfort and drinks. He talks about having wasted his life and Madeline is on the tv in the bar, in the same film Helen was watching before and when Madeline is dead Ernest smiles. Toni talks to Ernest and how he has every right to divorce her. Then when Ernest has escaped the castle he originally still had the potion and asks Toni for help. One of her customers sees the potion and drops dead. Then they come up with a ruse and dress the guy in Ernest's clothes and fool Madeline and Helen when they distract them with the potionbottle that they eventually get back. Madeline misidentifies 'Ernest' and the women take off. Then there would have been a time skip of 27 years... in Switzerland, with Madeline and Helen sitting on a balcony looking stunning, but bored out of their brains. They watch an old couple having a walk in the park and Madeline ridicules them. Helen looks at them with longing... then we see that the old man and woman have sit down on the grass and they touch hands... The man is Ernest and has a still young looking hand and the couple have some wine. Madeline and Helen keep looking at them as the movie fades out... just before it goes completely black their faces turn to skulls.

If the complete script is still available, there's no reason this couldn't be redone as a two-parter on Netflix, then turned into the illusive "what if" story about Lisle's long, long life and what led up to the movie. Peyton Place and Dark Shadows would make great jokes within the plot.

Originally it fell but didn't break... when Ernest wakes up in the pool underwater it is floating there and he grabs it. There is a video on the channel with behind the scenes footage of Bruce holding it in the pool. They reshot that scene... but in the film when Ernest walks towards the exit and you pause you can see he is still holding the potion in his left hand. The scenes they reshot and dubbed: Dubbing: instead of Ernest saying when he is hanging: "I'm sorry for all the monsters I created!" They changed it to "Sorry dears, you are on your own!" Ernest waking up on the floor of the pool, looking up and sees the potionbottle floating intact. He grabs it and swims to the edge. Jim Morrisson asks if he is gonna be done soon or what. And Ernest says... Yes I'm gonna be done very soon! And so will all of you!!! Pointing the potionbottle towards them. He goes to James Deans car and pushes Dean out of the way. Lisle walks out of the mansion and sees he still has the potion followed by Helen and Madeline. She threatens them to get it back or otherwise she'll bury them. This was changed to Madeline and Helen walking out first with Lisle behind them and her saying it would be better for them to get Ernest back. Madeline and Helen looking for Ernest at the Mansion inside... seeing the liquor cart... realising he is at the bar was changed to them not finding him but just shot from outside (probably because the Menville mansion interior set had already been partly dismantled). The whole poignant ending 27 years later with Ernest at old age with Toni in Switzerland while the two evil ladies watch them having a picnic was removed and we got the Ernest funeral ending that takes place 37 years later.

I'm making a screenplay book along with photos of all the scenes and showing they can actually combine the reshoot scenes along with the original cut of the film with only a little help of some minor cgi... and either of the endings can be used this way also. I'm making it into a digital file and send it to Robert Zemeckis and his wife.
