Zoro didn't even use Haki in this fight. If he used both Observation and Armament Haki at the start, the first slash would've sliced even Erza's strongest armor.

Pretty much, the Armament Haki basically means any weapon she could use against him would basically be shattered. Same for armor, mostly because only another user of armament haki is really capable of matching the strength as far as we are aware. Also because very rarely do Zoro's blades ever shatter despite what he is slicing, as opposed to Erza who's blades have been broken by much weaker things. Which is kind of a given since Erza has a whole arsenal so she is less concerned about a few broken swords.

Erza is so much more versatil that O.H. would be needed just to level the field, Erzas armors are boosted by magic, they are no mere steel. Still Zoro has the edge in speed, strenght and skill.

Zoro's sense of direction is so awful, his crewmate Nami told him to follow her up some stairs and he immediately bolted at a 90° angle to the right and down a hallway. -Nami told him to sail the ship straight ahead, and he did so by... Wait for it.... Following a cloud 😂 He blamed Nami for giving him unclear directions 😂 I would love to see an updated video on this, Zoro has only just become astronically stronger since this point. Zoro has blocked a combined attack from arguably 2 of the strongest characaters in the series (though i think this broke his arms? I cant rememeber) The red orb was insane. Basically Kuma, a very scary guy, is capable of repelling ANYTHING with the pads on his hands. Even pain. Luffy had suffered so much pain he literally blacked out and was as good as dead. Kuma ejected this pain out of Luffy's body, and told Zoro that if he absorbed Luffy's pain... Kuma would leave them all alone. Zoro, knowing this would kill him, chose to take this on. A mere fraction of the bubble caused the reaction you saw, almost bringing Zoro to his limit and he just.... Shoves his arms elbow deep into the orb. All we see later is him stood, eyes red and bloodshot, arms crossed, in a crater that is literally painted in his own blood. His crewmate Sanji asked him what the hell happened, to which Zoro replied "Nothing... Nothing happened" for the sake of his crew he kept this a secret. Zoro has literally escaped death through sheer willpower. Fun fact: If Zoro could use 4 swords, the 4th would likely be held between his buttcheeks. (I haven't said anything about Erza because I haven't seen the anime)

Fun fact: Erza Scarlet and Monkey D. Luffy are voice by the same voice actor, Colleen Clickenbeard. She has voiced several well know characters in many anime shows.

I watched Fairy Tail and really grew attached to Erza. I think her introduction of her magic power in the early show show was one of the coolest and her backstory flashback of her discovering her power is both one of the saddest and the most blood pumping scenes in the show.

My only concern with Erza and Fairy Tail is...isnt it notorious for oversexualizing the women and often sidelining them? I'm a bit hesitant to watch, despite it seeming like my kinda show otherwise.

@@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 ehhh that's a hard question to answer because YES there is a ton of fan service, a lot played for laughs, some existing just because, BUT in my opinion, none of the women get sidelined, or it isn't overt. Erza especially has the character and power to stay relevant until the very end of the show, and that's just one of the many amazing women who contribute, power up, or stay relevant and makes you care about them. The show itself is a huge swingset, from comedy to tradgedy, from wacky to dark, from laughter to actually crying. To me, it reflects real life in how every day can bring happiness or sadness, but it all depends on connecting with friends and family. I still recommend watching it, but maybe look up the filler episodes, especially in season 1, to avoid them.

This was a pretty sweet death battle, if you want to see more sword-swinging action, then I recommend for the next death battle that you react to Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai (Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai), this fight does get a bit bloody, but it does show some good jumping and a neat #1 bandana.

We are okay with the bloody death battles. Some have been pretty gruesome especially the Homelander and Omni Man one which was to be expected 😝

The thing is, Zoro's analysis is spotty, mostly because One Piece is still going, and only has RECENTLY gotten into its final saga. When this Death Battle aired, Zoro did only have and used Kenbunshoku (Observation) and Busoshoku (Armament) Haki, but recently it's revealed that he also has Haoshoku (Conqueror's) Haki, the rarest form of Haki that can, for a certain group of "chosen ones", overpower the willpower of others. Haki is, put simply, the "Will" or "Ambition" of people (its name literally translates to ambition). Oh, and yeah, Zoro's sense of direction is nonexistent. He once glot lost in a straight hallway! The same is true for Erza, as Fairy Tail was still going on and in its final leg when the Death Battle aired (this Death Battle's airdate is November 30th, 2016. Fairy Tail's final chapter was published on July 26, 2017, and a sequel series is currently ongoing).

Yeah but the same is for Zoro, who has grown even stronger since this original fight. Like we never see him at WCI and Wano juiced him up that he was on par with Luffy at beating Kaido. Erza would be toast.

I feel as though they really downplayed Erza in this DB. I won't deny that Zoro would win most of the time, but I definitely feel as though that Erza would make many of those battles very close.

They spent too much time explaining her powers and equipment and barely mentioned any of her feats. They didn't even mention her second origin. If the video came out later than the last FT arc they could also go into who her mother is which might explain where her inhuman strength comes from.

At the time they didn't have enough feats. They could compare her to others in the series but I highly believe that they hate fairytail. I could easily accept the result if they didn't make fun of the characters only talking about power of friendship and fanservice everytime fairytail is brought up instead of actually scaling (e.g. Bringing up her seduction armor that she never used and only brought up to make fun of Lucy or saying her "strongest armor" is very... pink. Not to mention that's not even her strongest armor. Lets just not bring up the gmg arc). It's also weird how they completely dismiss her speed. Yeah she can deflect a bullet but lets scale Gray to faster than lighting at the start of the series (before any powerups) then proceed to say she has the same reaction speed as a normal human. They used a manga panel that's not serious, a panel that was made to be funny to say Zoro is faster than the eye can see. Let me add: She doesn't just switch out armor. Her heavens wheel is to test the enemy and find his weaknesses. So why would she not only jump towards him but use no armor? Yes there weren't enough feats to scale her strength but comparing her defense while weakened from the edolas island blast that did NO damage to her and her drill that she pierced the cube with NO effort to Zoro cutting Pica. (I don't know about being over 6,000x tougher than what Erza took. They don't explain how they calculated that but regardless comparing someones offense to soneomes defense doesn't mean they're stronger) Not mad at the result. Just annoyed how they treated it

@@delanireid To compare her to Zoro who took on Luffy's pain and exhaustion on top of his own, they could quote Erza and thunder palace. A single thunder orb strike takes out most Fairy Tail wizards (so an ordinary person), even above average guys like Gray and Juvia. Erza took 200 of those and survived. I guess Zoro would defeat her, but they could have tried a little bit more with that one.

Fun fact in regard to that "Seduction Armor" that Erza had: human reaction time decreases with arousal, so making sure your opponent has the hots for you can actually give you an advantage in a fight. So, it actually could have a feasible use in combat. Loved the reaction, you two! Glad to see you guys go back to these older battles, since they still hold up really well.

@@az639 Not only was this pre-roof piece, it was pre-Wano. It's so old that Luffy hadn't even started his fight with Katakuri in the manga yet. It's wild thinking we've come so far that Zoro could potentially take on Katakuri at this point when the DB is sighting his fight against Pica as his most impressive win.

I want to start by saying I do agree with the end results of the battle. However I do feel like they definitely did Erza dirty with her durability feats and armor/weapons descriptions. There’s also the fact that both characters were extremely lowballed for their speed/reaction capabilities. I really wish that this episode could have had better research put into it and we could have had a good 3D battle. 😮‍💨

I can't wait for you guys to do Saitama Vs. Popeye. That one's absolutely insane, and will introduce you to the wild world of One-Punch Man!

The red bubble was the big bear guy was there to kill Luffy but made a deal with Zoro that he would let him live if Zoro died in exchange. He decided to have Zoro take all the damage Luffy had suffered fighting the boss of that arc which was immense. Zoro already had taken a ton of damage as well so this should have easily killed him, but he survived. When we see him after he is covered in blood and so is the area around him. When asked what happened he replied “nothing happened” and then he passed out for a few days.

They didn't mention it, but after Erza joined Fairy Tail, she also got an artificial eye to replace the one she lost, which allows her to see through illusions and grants her limited immunity to sight-based magical effects like petrification.

To put into perspective how crappy Zoro sense of direction is. He wants was at the East entrance of a city in the middle of the desert, and was told to go to the town center. He somehow ended up completely outside of the city and found jungle in the middle of the desert. He was then told to head north to reach a Clocktower, he then proceeded to head straight up the nearest Tower oh, that's up not North

I watched both one piece and fairy tail. As much as I love them both. Ezra has so many different outfits. But I gotta agree with Zoro wining

this reminds me, you guys should watch two of the wonderful Berserk fan animations, the Rosine fight animated and the Berserk armor animation.

Personally I think they missed a golden opportunity of having the two “demon” swordsmen fight it out, Zoro vs Kenpachi. The two are absolute monsters when fighting and they both have a TERRIBLE sense of direction. Be funny if they both got so lost they ran into each other in a completely different anime like Naruto. In that fight I think Zoro would hold his own, but I think Kenpachi would probably win in the end

There’s another Fairytale Deathbattle it has Natsu Dragneel but I forgot who he fights. The 188 monster fight they mentioned you can actually see the clip. It was during a tournament where she fought in an arena called Pandemonium.

Say what you want about the story, it was terrible, but you can’t sit here and argue that the main characters of the show weren’t just normal, relatable people. They all have their own flaws and some of those flaws are explored more in-depth in the show. If you can’t get behind people who would literally die for you then you must be living a miserable life, my guy.

Now that you saw the zoro vs erza, look at sanji is a great friend and rival of zoro, the video is "sanji vs rock lee" just like the battle to the death

I still think the sold erza a bit cheap there, since they didn't even mentioned her getting toetured for god knows how long with her sensation of pain heightened to the point that even the air on her skin felt excruciatingly painful. It's a least on the same level of zoro's pain bubble. But a fair outcome nonetheless i guess

You know one death battle I would like to see is Lightning from LRFF13 vs Erza Scarlett.

this was not fair. Erza fought a dragon and got her whole arm broken and with one hand she threw herself in the air and slashed through a meteor and fell back to slash that dragon wtf where was this in the death match video

I love the respect Zoro and Mihawk have. Zoro's single goal in life is to take out Mihawk and claim the title of world's best swordsman. Mihawk however greatly respects this and Zoro. During their first fight Mihawk fought him with a dagger that was like two inches long and wiped the floor with him. Zoro accepted the defeat and willingly allowed Mihawk to cut him open. The scar on Zoro's chest, which literally goes from shoulder to hip, is from that blow. He wanted Mihawk to cut him because something along the lines of "a true swordsman never allows you to cut their back" because it implies they tried to run away. Mihawk let him live because of that. His respect for Zoro is insane. His teaching Zoro how to be a better swordsman, despite fully knowing Zoro intends to beat him, shows just that.

You should check out one piece fighting path ultimates there good but make sure it's all characters cause they might not include new ones

Ragna vs Sol, Strider vs Ryu when?

I love how the verdict became obsolete around three months later when, in the Fairy Tail manga, Erza obliterated a meteor that was going to destroy the entire continent. She did this with all of her bones shattered, and the only limb she could move was her sword arm. Nowadays, the winner is fairly up in the air and depends on who you ask. I personally believe Erza wins, but there’s some really good arguments for Zoro.

Being someone that has seen a good portion of both anime, this is also one the best Death Battles I have watched. Both characters are well beloved by their fandoms and are just epic in their own worlds. ❤️🔥 Side note: Fairy Tail was done quite a few years ago. While One Piece is still going on strong.

actually the fairy tail manga is still going, look up "fairy tail 100 years quest" it follows up right after the original fairy tail and they also announced an anime adaption.

fun fact zoro has the same english voice as piccolo and vegeta in the original dbz dub

most of zoro's moves are either parody words or translations of something....ONIGIRI in this show means demon cutter but in truth it means riceball....a Japanese rice snack.

Zoro is one of the most badass One Piece characters, so I'm really glad you checked his Death Battle. He is kind of the "Vegeta of One Piece". And just so you know, nowadays, he has access to every ice cream flavor mentioned in the video 😂😂

I dont think hes really a Vegeta. Hes not a rival, he respects Luffy, and hes never compared to Luffy, and he wasnt really antagonistic, and the character arcs are different ect. The only thing he has in common with Vegeta is a fun amount of edge.

@@cradodragmire1563 When i said it I was thinking more in the line of "he is kind of a secondary-main character, which in terms of importance to the protagonist could be comparable to Vegeta from DBZ or to Sasuke from Naruto". But you're right, he presents a lot of differences with those two 😅

still wierd to me that we have had several one piece matchups and yet we haven't had one for Luffy aka the main character yet

To be fair I think they are waiting for when One Piece ends which, sadly, might be soon in the next couple of years. But even now it would be hard to match up anyone since Luffy is stronger than ever and yet hasn't broken his limit yet.

I think thats good. Lets luffy be at peak performance with all power ups. Imagine how one with him done before the conclusion of wano eould seem lacking.

This would be an even more one sided fight Currently since now he has conquerors haki

I would recommend Natsu Vs Ace for another One Piece Vs Fairy Tail fight, but that one comes with some pretty hefty spoilers for both sides, so tread lightly.

The name pronunciation for Erza is completely wrong. The actual way to say it is Air-Zah but for some dumb reason the anime's English Dub took no effort in watching the original source material for name pronunciation and went with Ur-Zah.
