That Ultra-Violence riff is fuckin' awesome. Bought the cassette at the Chico Tower Records late 1987. Loved that they were my age, I was 16, and rippin' it up! Huge fan of the first 3 albums.

Love the KISS story! My parents also took me (12yo) and my brother (10yo) to the 1979 Dynasty tour. We also played air guitar on tennis rackets, running around the house, listening to KISS albums. I became a "rock chick" in that moment and ever since. Caught the Testament, Exodus, Death Angel tour and you guys were all fantastic, as usual! 🖤 🤘

Agreed. Those are the bands that have stayed around so long and are still sounding as lethal as ever. A year later since your post, and bands like Sadus, Atrophy, and Exhorder are releasing brutal stuff too.

Awesome segment and introduction for Rob into the Vault. DEATH-ANGEL still makin' waves all these years later still remember the days when D/A made their way into the 916 and would hang with Sonny & PHALLUCY (back when they were Metal for a minute) shout out to John Halderman on the 4-string MFR! P.S. Horns up to Rob and his sick Jackson signature model. Finally had the opportunity to check one out and it doesn't disappoint. Easily one of the best models Jackson has made in recent years and absolutely honors its price point at the same time.⛧🤘

What a nice, humble and down to earth guy Rob is, allthough he is a hell of a songwriter and guitar player. A real artist. Death Angel fan since the end of the 80ies. Act III will be forever in my personal thrash of fame. Can't wait to watch the next episodes. Maybe Zet will invite Andy or Dennis in the vault too.

Not sure if you'll see this being that it's a year later from your comment lol, but same!!! Death Angel//Forbidden was my first metal show live, I was 13 going on 14, Allentown Airport Music Hall Allentown Pennsylvania. Act III tour. Changed my whole life. Started going to tons of metal shows, thrash mostly, over those first couple of concert years for me. I ended up being in touring bands myself, this is def where it started for me, as far as going to shows all the time, wanting to create my own music and get up there too. Man, it runs out Death Angel is still actually churning out really good metal records currently! Exodus (my fav band of all time), D.A., Testament, some overkill, are the bands still sounding lethal and creative till this day. Cool to see that bands like Atrophy, Sadus, Exhorder, and some others, are coming back around with solid stuff now too!

Great seeing Rob on the Vault. Saw Bay Strikes Back twice last year and met him and he was really cool. I got the hot sauce and we talked about it after the show and Zet said make sure you open and try it. I went through it fast. It was really good. The heat sneaks up on you.

In a metal-o-sphere in which there must be a "Big Four" of everything, Death Angel, along w/ Testament, Exodus, and of course the mighty Overkill constitute "The Other Big Four", with Death Angel's post reunion output edging out anything Slayer and Metallica released w/in the same time period and comparing favorably to Megadeth's better releases post '04 (the year of The Art of Dying's release). I didn't mention Anthrax because they're my favorite band so I'm hopelessly biased. It's always a pleasure to hear from Rob, who seems like a genuinely nice dude and I can't wait to hear what Death Angel's cooking up for their next album.
