In fact there is a great chance for a "happy ending" - just not how we imagine it. The two sisters have a chance to act differently than their father figures (Vander and Silco) so yeah, I think it will be a middle point between the three!! (Caitlyn, Vi and Jinx)

Dude. PURE ART, I got chills all up and down my spine. Some details in particular stood out: Caitlyn secretly following Vi to keep her safe and masterfully parcouring all over the Undercity (over the very same route that nearly killed her the first time around); the suspense built up by having Vi's hair covering her schrodinger's shimmer-eye; and the meticulous attention to the difference in nose shape between the girls. Superb work!! ❤

Even in season one I was surprised Caitlyn was even able to keep up with Vi with a huge head start. I thought it appropriate Caitlyn would eventually learn how to move efficiently through Zaun. I liked how Fortiche made sure every character was extremely distinct in their own right so these little nuances had to be consistent in my drawings. Thank you very much for giving this film a chance~!

Jinx being the dependable big sister to child Vi in the cell had me tearing up a little, I won't lie. The Arcane we'll never get, I suspect. :') Seriously incredible work, this needs way more views!

My sincerest thanks that you felt this way about that part of the film, because even if it doesn't happen in the show, the scene still resonated somewhere and that matters a lot to me. I've been thinking a lot about how Amanda Overton described the next season and it's somewhat influenced the path I took to complete this film.

This is an absolutely stunning storyboard full of so many meticulous details, both story wise and art wise. I love how Jinx’s perspective on Caitlin changes throughout the story. She was originally a monster from Piltover who stole her sister, but now she is someone reminiscent of her mother (a very high compliment from someone like Jinx). I also love how this is all mostly told through Vi’s perspective. We see her upbringing with Jinx, her struggles, and her lowest and highest points. This is making me SO excited for season 2 - I hope that we get some development like this!! 💕💕

That part with Jinx forgiving Vi and more childhood scenes are necessities for Season 2. Everything about this was so powerful heartbreaking, I've been in awe since the ten second mark 😭👏👏 This nearly brought me to tears. It's been so long since I've seen a fan animation with this much effort and dedication put in. It's 100% an inspiration to me as a fellow animator. It's incredible how much more this builds upon Arcane and I hope it'll get more attention soon. I'm so lucky this just happened to be in my recommended, because there's no better way to prepare for Arcane season 2 without a beautiful alternate ending like this 🔥

This is truly a masterpiece! I love everything about it, the art itself, the grayscale with blue being the only colour, the pacing, the camera movement, and of course the actual story! Massive well done!

Back in animation school, our teachers were Disney and Don Bluth stans who also liked everything coming out of Gobelins so the standards for quality were super high - like everything had to have a filmic cinematic quality to it and not at all feel like it was made for tv. The cognitive load is kind of a lot so younger me focused on telling a story in the most economical way possible and layer stylization choices with framing and editing on top. Pacing was something I had to feel out more over time when I used to do live action commercials and music videos. The crazy part is the way this film is boarded is it's a very unsustainable way of doing storyboards as a whole as it's exactly what places like Disney and Pixar and Fortiche would do - they have the time and budget. TV and other streaming projects generally don't. So try to take things easy when you're doing story reels! Animatics are polished storyboards for the big wigs. Overanimating poses in storyboards is too much work and you'd generally want your animators to be able to have some wiggle room to build on top of the performance in your boards - however you choose to negotiate the division of work with them. All the best in your animatic endeavors!

I can definitely see how maintaining this level of quality would be draining, especially in an environment like TV where it’s all really fast paced work. Im currently looking to get a job in storyboarding so I can get some experience working in a real pipeline. So I’ll definitely keep your advice in mind when building my portfolio. Anime is what got me interested in doing this in the first place so Id love to eventually work on a tv show like Arcane or Avatar that use a more cinematic language. Unfortunately there don’t seem to be a whole lot of shows in america with that kind of focus so it might serve me to go into film, Im not really sure. But eventually I’d love to try making my own show just for KZread or something. There’s a story Ive been working on for years that I haven’t really known what format to tell it in. I’m only a one person team, so I don’t intend to fully animate things. And despite my love for movement, I think I’ll likely have to sacrifice a lot of it for time and effort’s sake. I feel less bad about that looking at your work tho, as well as other storyboarders I see online. By framing things well, with lighting and clear acting, it’s plenty interesting without the need for a bunch of frames. It’s all a long ways off and from what I can tell I wouldn’t even be doing lighting most of the time for professional storyboard but I’ll keep your advice in mind going forward, thanks again for the reply and insights into your process and the industry

The ending they deserve to be honest.

You captured the heart and soul of Arcane perfectly. Even with the limitations you had. Truly an incredible piece of art.

The happy ending we will never get

It's amazing how much one can say without the use of words. It's a nice touch honestly, seeing how much through visual storytelling and the interactions of the characters that we can just see how they're thinking. What issues they're still carrying even after everything. It's not just the experiences in the show Arcane that they're carrying but the baggage from a terrible, terrible childhood, and those small spots of hope from a childhood they've become so disconnected from. It's so subtle in the show that Caitlyn reminds Vi of her mom while she's hallucinating, but I like that this touches on it too. That Caitlyn reminds Jinx of her mom just as much as Vi, and that thought terrifies her. It brings back her worst delusions. Yet here we see a resolution, or at least a momentary truce, enjoying memories of better days, looking over PIltover on what seems to be Progress Day. A broken family reuniting.

Bro. This. Is. INCREDIBLE. I can’t believe that I just saw this on my FYP and gave it a shot. Literally everyone needs to. The fact that it made me cry too😭 The absolute love, care, time, and talent put into this… Absolute art in every way ❤️

I'm happy you love the artwork!! Storytelling without dialogue is one of the things I was taught to do because you can't always rely on dialogue to carry a performance. I wanted this film to reach a wide audience without need of localization. Early day Disney films in the 1920s tried this but my gold standard was Triplets of Belleville. It's a whole feature film that managed to not have any dialogue or written words that "told" the audience what the story was about - instead choosing to rely on visual storytelling clues instead.

I honestly wish this was the ending of arcane because it’s so peaceful and everybody is friends in the end. But the actual ending is probably going to be heartbreaking

The moment I realized you had an acoustic down tempo cover of Enemies in here, I knew you had something good. That ending showed me you had something GREAT.

this is amazing. i truly want this for the three of them. i know jinx isn't some kind of mindless killing machine, arcane gave depth to her psycho character. plus, it also made more depth to caitlyn and vi's relationship since they've been long branded as piltover's finest, it must mean they have a relationship that emphasizes they're trust and cooperation for one another. this right here, is incredibly well-written and i will not deny it made me cry since i wish for arcane to turn in some kind of peace since these characters complement each other very well. i love this. this is art.

Wtf?! This is incredible!! So detailed! Everything felt so incredible in-character! The way Caitlyn is still suspicious of Jinx but softened up by the end, how Jinx feels at fault for Vi's condition and how she later uses the fireworks!!! SYMBOLIC MAN 😭 And Vi sits right between them, holding them both, oml

The fact that y'all have probably been planning and working on this since s1 ended but the time and effort you all put in is absolutely worth it this is a literal masterpiece ‼️

This is soooooo gorgeous. From the art to the storytelling to the freaking atmosphere. I love it so much. It felt so much like when i first watched the show. It's nostalgic and beautiful, and the whole animatic is so well thought out, and the subtle parallels and flashbacks to moments in the show and before are beautiful. Im just fan girling at this point but well done. You made me relive the same love i had for the show when i first watched it and got me excited for season 2 (and i was already excited)

I spent evenings and weekends for roughly over a year, I was finished with the storyboards/temp audio/editing around May and then I contacted a buddy in the fandom - www.youtube.com/@soothingsoundsmusic1475 - to see if they were interested in writing music and then pinged another buddy at Brass Door Audio for sound design. Several months later, here we are!

I wasn't all that familiar with League of Legends lore and needed all the help I could get, so their videos really helped me make sure my depiction of the characters worked between what was established by Riot and Fortiche - just really think about those relationships. I actually had a couple sad endings planned for this film, but one of OSP's vids convinced me otherwise. So I decided if Fortiche was going to stab us in the heart anyway, I'd rather give everyone something fluffy instead. Remembering how love and grief and forgiveness works meant however the characters chose to move forward, those feelings and memories will always remain.

This is absolutely insane oh my god… Not only is the art beautiful but the STORYTELLING AND THE DETAILS OMG I just LOVE how every scene connects to the series in a way that is so symbolic, hell in 1:03 when Powder’s hand turns into the bars shadow I GASPED!! You even added scenes that weren’t in the series and they ALL make sense instead of being “stuffed” in for mere referencing purposes The character writing is just STUNNING, I also love the fact that Caitlyn looks a bit like Vi & Powder’s mom and you developed that beautifully!! I can write a whole paragraph for each scene oml this is just🔥🔥 The ending we always wanted 😭

Every aspect of this is gorgeously genius my god-

This was amazing! And heartbreaking. The scene with the Vander statue reminds me of the framed picture we have of my late mother in the hall. It hurts to lose those we care about, and to think of how things could have been different, but it helps to appreciate what good times you had. And to appreciate the people you still have. I’m really glad my sister is making more of an effort to better communicate with me after all the events that happened. I was never as close to her as Jinx and Vi were, but hopefully, someday we will be.

I saw s2 trailer and this popped up in my feed today, wow, this is so good, i'm gonna miss the era between s1 and s2 where there are so many amazing fanfictions such as this about what's next, we have infinte potential till s2. Also, instead of this, we got Vi punching Powder with Hextech gauntlets fullforce, welp, hopefully they are trying to mislead us..
