  • @mitchellwoodbury2729
    @mitchellwoodbury27295 жыл бұрын

    Everyone is talking about how his voice and performance has depreciated here (in his age). Here's the thing about Dean Martin: He doesn't depreciate, you philistines! Old legends never die, they just get old and gain weight...not true about Dean Martin! His performance here merely demonstrates an added dimension to his character; depth. If you fail to understand that, you fail to understand Dean Martin himself. There will never be another Dean Martin, his combination of comedy, charisma, and unparalleled soul will not be seen again. I have now and forevermore will defend the legacy of this man. For those of you too damn dense to comprehend this notion, I issue genuine pity. However, any true believer in the norms and values of Dean Martin's philosophy will empathize with my insurgencies: Dean Martin will live on as long as we listen to his music and hear his jokes as long as they are available to us. To Dean himself, I would like to thank for the countless hours of music, and the many MANY laughs you inspired. You are a hero and an idol still. God bless your soul, and rein on, my friend.

    I find him even more handsome here than he was when he was younger (and boy he was gorgeous). There's a truth and a softness in his face that add a new dimension to him and his singing. Here you can see and hear the man beyond the glamour, beyond the laughter that he could so easily draw form the audience, beyond his stage persona. And if his singing sounds slightly breathless, if his voice breaks from time to time, his talent takes the frailty and turns it into a soulful, heartfelt rendition. Thank you, Dean. And thank you dino4ever.

    Absolutely brilliant. That's what we call star quality. Deano had a unique way of delivering each song he ever sang. He always managed to bring you to that moment in your own life and you felt it all over again. Whether it was a great moment in your life or a heart breaking moment, Deano brought you there but you still felt you were in safe hands. I know Frank Sinatra was held up as one of our great singers, but Deano outshines him in my opinion

    4:15, when I see this part, I imagine Dean is leaving this earth (how the light goes very heavenly on him and dims the background) then once he is finished singing "for the good times", having the lights go out which is him finally gone, accepted and now resting in heaven

    There's Dino with the smiling eyes! I met him on a couple of occasions. Unlike what most people thought (and he played the part of a party-goer/drinker very well) Dino was one of the first ones to leave the party and go home! Good guy, back in the days when music was real music and all of the Rat Pack guys had great voices! Most of all, they all had GREAT FUN on the stage when they performed. They played tricks on each other, just a lot of fun when they were around! Vegas has never been the same since the good old days! Nice memories.

    @James Henderson B.S. -- you must be very young and naive. Didn't your parents ever tell you not to make accusations you can't prove? Or say nasty things or keep bad thoughts to yourself? When you grow up, you'll learn that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, and if you DON'T learn that, you WON'T get the chance to grow very old!! Watch your mouth, it could end your life early if you don't. Our world is getting more intolerant and violent and if you don't learn to be nice, your world could end sooner than you realize!

    @James Henderson People who make a lot of money are ALWAYS being hounded to donate to this fund or that one -- for a TAX write-off, of course! They tell their accountants to make a donation and usually forget it! Look at the rich Hollywood "sheeple" who have been talked into donating a lot of money to the Scientology cult, and then regretted it when they learned all about that CONTROLLING cult! And then there's those who NEVER learn, they just leave it up to their bean counters to handle their money!

    Frances Van Siclen Everyone who knew Dean all said the same thing, that he was never able to get over losing Dean Paul. Even Jeannie said in one interview; “It broke his heart. And mine too, I will never know pure joy ever again.” Of course, we all feel sorry for the effect that Dean Paul’s death had on Dean, but I think that we forget how heartbroken Jeannie must have been as well. After all, he was HER son too, her first born (although Dean already had 4 older kids from his first wife Betty), and the one who most looked like her, with the same blond hair.

    R.I.P. Dino, may you keep singing on in Heaven, I sure love this talent of a man, his voice cannot compare to anyone else, it was unique, one of a kind, he was so handsome, it's just sad that after he lost his son, in a plane crash, he was never the same, he continued on, but you could see the hurt, & the pain he carried deep within his heart, Sir Dino, you're now at peace, with your son, may the good times in Heaven make up for all your pain you had over the years, you are truly missed by so many of us, your songs, your jokes, your performances, are missed immensely, I remember playing " Welcome to my World" over & over, that is one of my favorite songs, & today June 1, 2019 I continue to play it. GOD bless & know there are so many of us who truly miss, & love you 🌺AMEN🌺 from 🌷Cathy🌷 NYC
