Thank you so much!! I suppose they were waiting for more facial expression or for him to say something, but from years of watching this show, this is exactly how Dean reacts when he's in shock (he always suppresses his feelings), so I wouldn't mind these people 😅

@@c.m_edits dean also had a lot to process in a very short amount of time and as someone who doesn’t show feelings I understand why his expression was like that. But as soon as he turns and sees the empty, you can see his eyes are filled with tears. Plus he ends up breaking down on the floor afterwards

I'd also like to point out/add on that Dean fully ignored Sam calling him, any other time Dean wouldn't do that especially considering they were in a situation of everyone they cared about was proofing out of existence but Dean is so distraught and heartbroken that he fully ignores Sam calling him

Okay. So when you collect all those pieces together, it looks like a very obviously restrained love story. Almost like an endless friendzone in which they are stuck and constantly sad about it, cause they can't express it with words. Well, Cas dared and look what happened. If those were real people, I would say that they never said it because they knew how dangerous their work is, and they could lose each other at every moment. So they were constantly burying in themselves all the romantic drive towards each other. Because they knew it didn't make sence to say it, because it would only hurt them more afterwards. But their actions were written in the script of a TV Show. By the writers who knew what they were doing. So my guess is that if we never got Destiel treated well in the previous seasons, we may not get it in the last one. I am being realistic and I don't want to hurt my own feelings as a retired shipper so I think the most of the Destiel we already got. And there may be nothing like that in the upcoming episodes.

They didn't make destiel canon before because they knew they could lose so many fans (angry or not interested in destiel or HOMOPHOBIC fans). So they did it last minute so they could please everyone. And, of course, the didn't want to give us more destiel after 15x18 because they didn't know how to deal with it. If Cas and Dean talked again after that episode, what they would have said? They didn't want to make it really canon, and they couldn't just be like "you know what? Never mind, nothing happened in episode 18, just let's reunite dean and cas brotherly". So yeah, I completely agree with you, and everything you said showed in episode 19 and 20, sadly.
