I am going to miss this show so very much. Castiel's love confession is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It would have been interesting if Dean had had more of a chance to react, or if Cass had been addressed more in the last two episodes but I'm glad that he finally got to admit the truth. That all he needed to truly be happy, was to say it. He's right. It's not in the having, it's simply in the being.

@QueenMegaera There's certainly similarities with the Antichrist episode (the kid who accidentally kills people with joke shop stuff because he's heard it's dangerous and turns Cas into an action figure after Cas tries to kill him), so I'd say it's likely It's been a while since I read the book and I couldn't remember if 'to the world' was lifted from the book or not

Jensen is doing that cuz his masculinity is fragile. Misha himself has said Cas is in love with dean, and so did the S15 script. The writers have implied it on the mutual side, but you’re right, dean being into Cas is not explicitly canon. A dudebro actor does not trump the writing of the characters. Actor is just an empty hat until the writer stuff a rabbit into it.
