Great video. One of the most common problems I encounter when trying to bring in data sets from multiple organizations or departments.

Thanks for the video! If the correct coordinate system doesn't match that of your map, however, won't redefining the coordinate system as unknown result in a projection outside your map area? At that point, how would you confirm the correct coordinate system of the non-matching feature layer?

I'm having the same problem with my file, I did the way you have mentioned (interesting to know how to erase a coordinate system on a file!), but the file still sits somewhere else (in a wrong location). I've tried through ArcGIS and ArcMap multiple times!

@@karagrace5607 Hi Kara, I'm not sure if you could have solved the issue, but I figured it out with a georeferenced image of the site and the dwg file imported into Vectorworks.

Similar approach when i apply for a raster data, it does not work. Any workaround? for incorrectly defined raster data set how to define correct projection?

Can't you just use the CS for the NHPolDist? Or am I missing something? Thank you.

In this case, yes, but using an existing layer’s CS certainly won’t work all the time
