Great story concept, well told. Another good job from a talented storyteller. Favorite part: the emotional pain of the sun, plus how you made it such a happy ending. More, Dack, more. :-)

Great story. I remember when I was first learning ASL, I saw you Mountain Dew video and had no clue what it meant. It is exciting to have come this far and be able to understand your videos. I have to go back to Mountain Dew story to see if I can understand now. I totally understood this, and for me, that is saying alot. You have great storytelling skills!
Mr. Virnig: you never cease to amaze us!! Thank you for your willingness to share your talent with those of us who are striving to be even 10% as good as you!

Aww! I love this story! I like everything what of you post of your story, I enjoy to watch it. I would like to watch more! You are awesome story telling!
A student was feeling sassy and this is what she wrote about the story: "So basically its snowing really hard and theres snow on the ground. Then two children, one a girl in pink and a boy in blue wow soooo original come out and start playing. Then they come up with the idea of making a snowman, like every other child. They do the generic snowman building process but oh noooo something’s missing! Its a hat. So the girl takes off her hat and puts it on the snowman and like a rip off of frosty the snowman he comes to life. He goes to find the children who now vanish from the story as he instead gets distracted by the sun, who is currently doing smash bros taunts at him. The snowman runs off to fight the sun, but the sun sinks into the shadows as it turns to night. The snowman is cold and like: “i miss the sun :(“ then the sun comes back and it goes from a frosty ripoff to an olaf ripoff. Day and night cycle happens snowman chases senpai who does not love him until the snowman suddenly starts melting. Then they make a really weird choice to have the sun start caring about the snowman right as he’s dying, which i find to be completely out of character for what was previously established. Then like jesus christ or something out from the water puddle rises the snowman who has become a cloud and they are now happily reunited until the next time it snows and/or rains. -13/10 would not recommend" we absolutely loved watching the story and exploring the different story elements, signs, classifiers, and facial expressions. Thank you, my dude!!!
Wow that was really amazing. I love to see ASL in its pure form and used for such a touching story.

This was an AWEDOME story. You give it such meaning and life. Thank you. I'm a student in SLI, so this story is kind of like a metaphor for my life right now. Just as the snowman keeps trying to reach the sun because it's in love with it; I must keep trying to learn ASL because I love it!!! :)) Thank you again, you're great! :))
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this.

Beautiful and love it!!! You champ!
This is amazing! I just started teaching myself ASL a few weeks ago, so a lot of these signs were unfamiliar to me, but your facial expressions and other body movements helped me understand. And it also helps that you're easy on the eyes!

That was absolutely transfixing...! What a story, so well told and beautiful, amazing. I'm a student as well, and didn't quite understand what the snowman morphed into. Did he become made of air? And then he and the sun lived happily ever after? Off to share this on as many platforms as possible...thank you for this story! Wonderful!

I'm only in my second year of ASL, I don't know every sign and every classifier, but I did manage to learn more by watching this video!! I was able to understand 90% of it! Thanks for the summary, helped me connect it a lot better, I'm going on a field trip with my ASL class, so I need to get used to signing, I'm kind of a slow signer, but it can read. I just need to process information a lot faster, and learn classifiers and facial expressions.

This was an amazing story! Nice use of classifiers. (Classifiers are hard for me to voice) I am practicing voicing for one of my classes and I got stuck towards the end. Did the snowman turn into air with a long nose and white arms? what happened towards the end when the snowman was on the sun?
Lol cute story smile
