Just a tip: clean several times with alcohol prior the stencil. Then use stencil stuff and Spirit Hectograph transfer paper. Don't know why your stencil got wiped out so dramatically but if you do what I suggested , you'll thank me for life! ;)

Can I ask , are you recording with a phone in time lapse mode ? Or a dslr in regular time & speeding up in post ? is someone filming for you ? Or are you using a tripod ? If you are using a tripod, are you zooming in afterwards in post ? Thanks in advance for your time to answer this. Also this is incredible !! I watch it almost weekly! Lol.

Landed an apprenticeship 5 weeks ago!! Really helpfull tattoo! Ive been thinking about getting 2 rotary machines.. but my teacher uses ONLY coil machines. Is it wise for me to stick with coil because of this? Or should I get rotary machines? Because I have the feeling rotary is smoother and ofcourse less sound when working.

First of all Thank you very much! My honesty opinion is that you must respect and accept the guidance of your teacher. If your teacher had cross the road that you want to walk you must absorbed everything from him. But from your question I understand the same frustration that Lena had when she tried to have an apprentice. So to answer your question I will suggest you to try Everything with out any limitations! Try and try and try again! Different things, different techniques, different machines, needles, inks, mentors etc... Don't settle, don't afraid to make mistakes. Just be open minded and at the end of the day think your progress and adjust your actions to solve your mistakes.

When I started I hated coil machines. Straight outta the gate. I had a mentor who has been tattooing for 30 years tell me he loves his rotary machines and will never go back to coil. His advice was rare & I completely agree when he said “why fuck around with springs & tuning and maintenance and parts and elastics and the noise and everything else when you can use a tool for the job that just lets you plug it in use it, nearly maintenance free & it’s quiet and works perfect every time so you can just focus on making great art instead of messing with machines. Best advice I ever heard come out of an old school tattoo artist who’s rolling with the times & advancements of equipment & techniques. Just my two cents. :)

Lena uses different volts according to what machine she uses, the approach and the technical aspects on the skin, but also the result she is trying to make. I can not give you a straight answer because it will confuse you more.

Thank you very much for your kind words! This project was made on 2 days in a row. (Means that it was two days back to back.) If you apply correctly the stencil it can hold even and 3 days. Sem is soft edge magnum. You can find it and as a curved magnum, it depends from the brand that you use.
