I've come back to this a few times now over the last 2 years. I have to say that losing i_o has probably been the first time that I've been impacted by a celebraty passing away. I had started the year of 2020 actually creating a project inspired by i_o. I saw one of his acid rave sets and he was in a virtual environment DJing and I found it really cool. So for a final project for one of my classes in uni, I created a virtual environment for DJing. Unfortunately i_o passed away in the middle of me making that project but it makes that project even more dedicated to him, in my eyes anyways. Wish I could see him live again, it is what it is though. Thanks for this tribute 💜

2 weeks later and I'm still sobbing. I've seen a lot of artists go in the last few years but this one hurts the most by a long shot. His music and attitude helped me through so much. I would work to his music almost every single day. He was so fucking special. I hope somehow he knows the impact he had, how many of us loved him, how much joy and exhilaration he brought to the world, how missed he is........ I never got to meet him but his music was so ingrained in my every day life that it feels like I lost a close friend.... It's taken this long for me to listen to anything of his again because it just hurts so much, and it still does... RIP Garrett. I hope you've finally found peace.

Im right here with you. Its what kept up me motivated in 2020. The way I look at it, he left us with so many good tunes, and it was his time, we're showing him respect by keeping his tunes on, keep listening to them, and keep enjoying him for as long as can. Long live i_o.

@Mark MacDonell Yup, That i was one I bought tickets too. One of my friends went and he said that when his set was over he just went upstairs and listened to jazz music for a couple hours. Such a cool guy.

Damn... when the melody of the second track came in I started tearing up. Didn’t expect that to happen. It’s just.. that’s one of my favorite melodies, or at least melodic styles (chord progressions?). Such a shame we lost someone who could produce that type of stuff.
