I think people should really appreciate Paul Morley's work as a journalist here. he really did know how to conduct this interview to get an insight the real fans would care about.

no he wasnt he first made songs advertising for a website design company get your facts straight. he learned off making music for flash websites circa 2000-2004.... making him a producer far b4 a dj

And goes on Twitter and rant on there post. Yes thats his thing but he has a smart side on the other hand and goes with the music that he knows and passion that he loves and also talks about it in interviews.

Strobe is my absolute favorite deadmau5 song. I learned to play the slow part on piano. Really fun to play and really easy.

Joel is the best music producer to roam this earth (as every fan's dream) he got me into making music of my own using Ableton. (lets not have a big fuss about FL and Ableton alright)

***** Just Bieber isn't even a music producer, I highly doubt he actually writes his own stuff let alone create sounds with modular synths...Deadmau5 is the best music producers on the planet right now. I'm not saying he's the best musician but he's the best producer and there is a massive difference in those 2 statements. Hopefully you understand where we're coming from when we talk about producing an album it's a lot different than singing or playing and then letting the record label do that rest.

Really intelligent guy starts off making music in his basement. With a stroke of luck, lots of patience and effort, he becomes the world's biggest DJ and goes on to change the lives of many. Somebody make a movie about his life!

Deadmau5 has a very specific sound. I can tell that if there's a song of his I haven't heard yet. I can pretty much say "that sounds very deadmau5ey" Same as Daft Punk has a very specific sound to there music.

I watched another interview with Deadmau5 and he actually starts going slightly more in-depth about how he produces some of his sounds and he is fucking genius. The amount of synth knowledge he possesses is unimaginable. Listening to his newest song, "Get in the cart, Pig" and thinking that he created every single sound from scratch basically is amazing. He is an awe-inspiring producer and I hope he keeps doing his thing.

This is the first deadmau5 interview i've seen where the dude isn't asking stupid questions. He actually knows how to talk to Joel. Props!

It's nice to see a reporter who doesn't ask the same questions and knows his shit. You can tell when a celebrity gets questions that they have to actually think about, not like 'what's your best song?', they give interesting answers.

This guy is changing the world. A year ago I was the only one in my group of friends who listened to him. Now they're all Mau5heads. If this guy can convert those pop-rock kids into fans of this music, he will be the #1 "Python-Coding Musician" in the world!

I like how in the description he clearly puts in bold letters what the lame of the song is because he doesn't want to hear people constantly asking.

His music is simple to nail and place in a genre. The reason the people in those forums don't know what genre it is, is because they don't expose themselves to enough different forms of music (electronic in particular) to know what to compare it or to even put it to a name. Deadmau5's music is all Electro-House with some Minimal Techno influences. Strobe, I remember, and Ghosts N stuff have some trance influences, but other than that he doesn't really make much effort to step out of the genre

@srxshadow his show is preplanned, because the lights and cube have to match the music, so his transitions are usually the same for each show, but he has to mix it each time
