Whenever you add ghee in any dish it will not tatse spicy, people in North india eat red chilli-garlic chutney with roti or paratha they add one or two spoon of ghee and then doesn't taste spicy and it's taste also elevate to another level

True, it's got a 'mildening' effect on the dish. Also anything cooked in ghee tastes heavenly. Olive oil has nothing on ghee when it comes to flavour!

@@ramengirll Olive oil is a seasoning oil, not a cooking oil. It has mild flavor. And also Olive oil is not supposed to be heated very high.

Chutney is Sauce or dip in Hindi. It can be chunky with solid bits like salsa or liquidy. It can have many sort of taste too, sweet, tangy, hot, etc

No it is a colloidal solution, like every other sauce or such. Did u need a chemistry lecture there or just a simple explanation so they could understand the concept? No need to act over smart over every single thing and learn to take stuff simply for once

​Coconut chutney can be quite of a pouring consistency or even thick and goopy. It can be made with either red or green chilli (rendering a different flavour to it with either one) ​@@hahahap9844

one thing people dont realize is that with everything spicy you are generally handed over a plate of onions. When you eat the spicy stuff and feel the spice hit, immediately take a bite out of onions to balance things in your mouth. Not only the flavor melds well, it also brings down the spiciness level and makes it way more tastier. I came to know that when I had to eat chole bhature for lunch for a long time, it was pretty spicy and I was at a loss due to it being a blisteringly hot summer...understanding how to eat onions slices opened alot of doors. Alot of Indians also dont know this, but this is very helpful advice for foreigners who eat in India because they can't handle the spice. If onion slices are over, you can ask for a refill for free. I advice you to try that whenever you eat some non-veg spicy stuff or spicy stuff in general. Do not simply go and drink water or cold drinks over it because it will mess with the acids in your belly and the taste of food will fade. If you have to take water or cold drink, let it be bit after the meal.

Chutney is made out of chillies, coriander, salt, ginger, etc. It is a paste of these things. Some add tamarind or indian olive(sour) to make it tangy and sweet.

I feel so lucky to be born in India because we get to experience the depth of all types of experiences- food, flavors, music, dance, sights.. it's spiritual!! I feel bad for those who can't handle spice and those who have never heard Indian Music.

I don't know which lentil you are talking about but we have a lot of varieties of lentils and pulses..and that's a kind of donut(not sweet though) made of lentil paste & masala and some rich😅 dryfruits with overnight soaked a kind of lentil. Which is served with curd and 2 types chutney and some salt & masala on top to garnish..

i don't understand why most of the Americans think spices means chilli. In India spices are used to enhance the flavour . Chilli may be a part of it , But again we use different variety of chillies. Yes Chatni is a kind of sauce. Brown one is a sweet tangy one , green one can be a bit spicy and then we also have a red one again can be spicy.

That curd and red sauce thing be sure to try that its gonna blow you away man but if spices don't suit you be away from green sauce the name of the food is ( DAHI BALLE )
