I remember the moment we heard the bad news. Our youth leader at the time had just moved down there when he accepted a call a church needed a youth leader. His neighborhood was spared from severe damages, by about a block away. We jokingly said something like, It's a sign you shouldn't have left, but he's like, It's a sign I moved here just in time to help them. Jason G., if you ever see this, come back to visit someday.

I always remember the reporter who was there for days, and she said she woke up every night hearing the sound of the cadaver dogs barking...

I'd never live in Moore, OK, Joplin, MO or Tuscaloosa, AL. They're all tornado magnets.

I lived in the Somerset apartments at 20th and Connecticut. I am only alive today because of my roommate Jacob and the good Lord above! Most terrifying experience of my entire life.

Block stand no chance against the upper echelon of tornadoes, sadly. But, it'll be a good start.

Mexico and Europe don't get extreme tornadoes like the states. EF3+ tornadoes are "more common" (even though rare) in the US than anywhere else. That's why tornadoes here do considerable damage to even the most well built buildings.
