Deadliest Journeys - Nicaragua, Endless Rain

00:00 Devastated by its economy, Nicaragua has hazardous infrastructures. During the rainy season, the tracks turn into a quagmire and make it difficult for vehicles to pass. The transport of dynamite, useful for the extraction of raw gold, is perilous there because the tremors of the road risk at any time to explode the precious detonators. Added to this danger is that of armed looters. In the center of the country, the journey is just as complicated for evangelical pastors who travel by motorbike to meet very isolated communities. Finally, on the Caribbean Sea, Miskito fishermen outdo themselves to survive.
12:13 Two Priests One mission
24:06 One error may be deadly
31:23 Nicaragua's deadly rain strikes again
41:43 Hunting, Fishing everything to survive
Directed by: Mathieu Orcel

I'm a born and raised in the USA, living in Nicaragua since 2014. Absolutely love it! Not sure when this was filmed. The statement made that the only paved roads are in the capitol is 100% a false statement. Seems like those who made this video are giving the portrayal that Nicaragua is still living in the early 1900s. Too bad because it's a very beautiful, unique country. Nicaragua has the best roads in Central America. True, in the country where it's less populated, lots of dirt roads still exist, but they are only bad to travel during the rainy season. All the larger cities have virtually everything one needs. Malls, restaurants, many of the same chain restaurants you'll see in the USA. Internet and cable throughout the country. Also it's a peaceful country. You NEVER hear of gun violence, drug overdoses. Abortion is illegal. Homelessness is almost nonexistent. All meat, fruit and veggies are free of chemicals and preservatives, it's all grown locally. Medical is free even for tourists, through the government system. It's the safest country in Latin America, especially for tourists. I could go on but will end by saying that I have no desire to ever leave Nicaragua.

Borrow money from IMF payable in 30 years at a fixed rate for bridges, road repair, construction, widening and opening. Well built roads have advantages: (1) arrival at the destination at the soonest possible time; (2) less wear and tear and less maintenance expense for vehicles; (3) safety and comfort drivers and passengers; and (4) faster transport of goods. Use the money also to buy bulldozers and payloaders for road maintenance and clearing.

The IMF may deny any loans to Nicaragua. The irony is that the Nicaraguan government is doing a great job at keeping the drug cartels off its territory, as possible, but it is an ally of Cuba and Russia.
