DEADHEAD Live at RedRocks

Музыка

Ok, so: A few years ago, myself and the DTP band had the privilege of playing a show with friends Opeth and Gojira at their show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Both of those bands professionally filmed and recorded their shows and have released DVDs of it. I did not record this show, but have been asked by people if I could find a song from it. Fortunately, a few people on KZread posted footage (thanks to MRYNCRISPY, TwilightCalzone who we could reach for approval, and also I used a bit from videos by Melanion and Trapper, whom we wrote but couldn't reach, but hopefully its cool..) as well as our good buddy Neil Lim Sang for his great still photos here as well. This is truly a very lo-fi live video, but it at least gets the point across =) It was a fun show and it was nice to be invited to play. Thanks to Callum for talking to the KZread folks and Mike StJean for helping me figure out some Premiere Pro tricks. Hope youre all doing well, and theres lots more content coming your way soon. Keep fighting the good fight, and try not to let the bad days grind you down. -Dev

It was a great show. However, by the time Opeth played, it had gotten super windy and cold, and the sound was seriously diminished due to wind. Gojira had some amazing pyrotechnics.

I love Gojira and the played an awesome set. I do love Opeth, mostly older stuff, and it was I think my fifth time seeing them live. absolutely jaw dropping! i've been to two of his shows last 5 years. they're absolutely incredible, for sure! but i know i'm affected by the context while standing in the crowd, so i always downplay my experience and chalk it up to "being caught up in the moment".

That venue is beautiful and this song made me get all misty eyed. Darn it LOL. I've been with my husband for twenty-four years. His first marriage and my second. We've been through a lot together. Marriage takes a lot of work and sometimes sacrifice from both people for it to work and thats hard. We get annoyed with each other, act like a jerk and then you apologize and try not to keep being a jerk.

I got to shake this man's hand 6 days prior to this on his 45th birthday after a show in a small club in Pittsburgh, PA. We all know he's an insanely gifted performer, but to see it in person from like 8 feet away was mind-blowing. The guy really is an alien! lol

Got to see him do an acoustic set at Mr. Smalls in Millvale near the burgh and so many people there who didn't know him were skeptical since it was a metal show. By the end of his set he had won every single of one of them over...

I love all the variations of Deadhead from studio, concert, and small events. Such command of your lyrics keeps them fresh. This recording pulled me in with shaped vocals, like an energy power up during an anime battle, fueling that wall of vocal distortion like a super blast of emotion. That is some sorcery. If I kiss any more ass here, I'll likely end up with a nugget. The visuals of your surrounding are amazingly complimentary. Guessing the air was dry out there. Those rock formations...wow! Delightful edition to video posting. Thank you!

There aren't many singers who sound better 20+ years into their career than at the start. Devin sounds like he trained in the hyperbolic time chamber for a few hundred years when you hear the difference between his voice now and his voice during SYL days (especially the clean vocals). It's like he took a moon stone and evolved.
