@@kayt5987 Nah the third one was doomed since the beginning... It didn't matter if they added more suits or enemies. It couldn't capture the first game ambiance and sound design...

The Ishimura feels like home to me.

The lack of percussion, or rather rhythmic percussion, is what makes this sound so haunting to me. Rhythmic percussion creates a sense of structure and organization that (in my opinion) reminds us that someone is there and in control. Take it away and you have what feels like randomness or chaos - an unknowing feeling.

case in point - @ 1:07:16 when the drums come in, the eeriness goes away, despite there still be ambient chimes an strings being played. It feels more like an action sequence at this point.

19:51 can be heard both in Dead Space 1 when you enter the engine room, and also in DS2 when you enter the upper part of the unitology church, just before the encounter with Daina.

To me the scariest part of Dead Space 1 wasn't so much the jumpscares or the monsters. It was that feeling of dread walking down the dark passageways with that ambient droning choir of the dammed softly playing in the background. Knowing that this unsettling feeling in the pit of your stomach is the closest thing to peace you'll ever feel aboard this ship, and every other moment is pure terror. It really does make you feel like you're trapped and there's no escape.

Finally, some good fucking ASMR

57:00 is heard on the shuttle deck, right after you crash there in the beginning of the game

Ah, yes. One of the greatest games i played untill EA ruined the whole series... Dead Space 3 was OK but far from what Dead Space truely was. Thanks @Delta135Z for sharing!

Classic mode on impossible difficulty with the dark space mod from nexus mods turns it into an absolutely far more dedicated dead space game on pc.

Dead space 3 had potential to be horrific we saw that in the $15 awakened dlc. (Still costs that much after all this time) but all we get is an R.I.P. I suppose in the end it fits with the name. But it still stings that the fact you had to pay $15 for about an hour maybe less of gameplay just for the ending.

I am SO happy basically every one of these tracks was brought back for the remake AND used in the appropriate areas we originally heard them. God I love dead space so much.
