Isabela is a big downgrade in the remaster... Her hair doesn't look jet black anymore and it looks dirty/unwashed. She has a small caveman forehead now and her eyes look so dark, even the white around her eyes. In the original she had a certain oriental look to her, like she could be mixed.

@@SilentAssassin01234 when working mirrors were standard almost every game had baked shadows, so making a mirror was just replicating textures and models. Nowadays rendering the same thing twice would have a giant performance impact. RTX does that and most people don't care for it, idk why mirrors somehow are seen as such a priority when rtx isn't.

Es una manera de arreglar lo que dejaron atrás con sus anteriores remasters y ver si todavía hay interés en la franquicia después del desastre del dead rising 4. El remaster del primer dead rising no está mal pero tiene uno que otro error viniendo con esto a pesar de los beneficios . En el caso de los remaster del dead rising 2 y OTR , ahí sí que lo arruinaron e incluso son casi injugablea con la cantidad de errores y crasheos que dan esas remasterizaciónes. Ojalá cuando esté remake tenga éxito los de Capcom se dignen a darnos el remake del 2 y OTR como es debido con mejoras y por un equipo más competente.

I played OG one 2 years before, Loved it. Sure it has flaws like unable to move while aiming and 0 survival instincts of NPC you supposed to save. I'm gald this remake/remaster fixing them all. Can't wait to go back to the mall🤣🔥

This has me so hyped, these guys seem so passionate and this is a remake quality remaster. The QOL changes are going to be a blessing which will further boost this game's replayability. I wish they brought back TJ but everything else is on point.

This is going to make it fresh to play again as someone who played all the games and dlc content back in the day.

I hope they will let you pan out the camera, because with the camera this close to Frank it will undoubtedly lead to serious trouble with zombies blindsiding you.

Agree. Hopefully theres a fov slider but even recent re remakes had camera problems, so I dont expect anything good.

The original still holds up till today.

Even though I have been a fan since the first game, my very first Dead rising was the Wii version and I didn't even played the original one. This would be my first time playing the actual game as long as Capcom doesn't screw this up

OG Frank's better. While the remake clearly looks a lot better, there's something incredibly charming about the original game's look. Also, why does the Deluxe Remaster look so dark?

The original ran on one of the first iterations of MT Framework, the remake is running on RE Engine, and one thing they highlighted is the lighting engine has gotten a major upgrade, so it looks darker because the way the light interacts with the environment is closer to how light IRL works. The original didn’t use effects like real-time lighting or ambient occlusion.

Even if the engine's rendering here is more advanced and accurate the final result is not necessarily aesthetically pleasing to look at. This is disappointing as many earlier titles were made with a great deal of care and attention to detail in their art and visual presentation, and thus have a distinct and visually appealing look even if the graphics rendering is "inferior". I'm still hopeful this remaster will do the original game justice, but there are no guarantees with any of these game devs nowadays.

Remasters usually a test to see if they will do a sequel in some cases...

The original is more aesthetically pleasing for what this game is supposed to be about, no cap. Something about it has an intensity and looks very natural in motion, even the way the camera subtly moves when Frank walks. The new one looks great, but still seems off in some areas.

Yes, the game originally was not going for "realism" because the game is a little goofy and doesn't take itself entirely serious. The visuals it provided were good enough to see things clearly and certain things were made to "pop" or stand out amongst other things. Overall it was much better and esthetically pleasing. Now they are trying to chase after "realism" and it has lost a lot of style and clarity in the process. Things are much darker and harder to distinguish one thing from another. It just looks so bland and generic

Wouldn't blame it on the engine, Ada for example is still really attractive in both RE2R and RE4R and those uses the same engine as this (most RE Engine games have attractive females in them tbh), so Isabella got redesigned to look like a granny somehow

i like the original more. i like how you can clearly see bloodstains and other features on zombies faces in the original. and in the remaster their faces are just obscured into shadows and you cant see anything. and shadows on the ground are still missinig, like zombies are flying. everything became darker for no reason, but the most essential shadows on the ground are still missing. look at the front right zombie at 0 50. he is literally like if he is flying above ground

Probably due to how they do them. I assume those original reflections for mirrors are a Render to Texture so essentially rendering the game world a second time. Very expensive to do today with the geometric density many games have

@@JimChristopherGovea they still come up every once in a while in some games. Cyberpunk 2077 uses them for mirrors when you activate them. RDR2 also uses them for their mirrors. It’s not dead just uncommon due to the cost.

Why is character's face on RE Engine games looked exaggerated and full of botox? The upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds is also having the same issue, they all seemed to have exaggerated jaw lines The only RE Engine game to avoid this weird look entirely was DMC 5.

Can't wait! Loved the OG and will like this one too.

Interesting that the cutscenes largely remain the exact same, from the camera angles to the motion capture, the big change is the better facial animations. Hopefully this means modding TJs voice in will look smooth in cutscenes.

This remaster (but pretty much remake graphic wise) for the most part is looking really solid. Graphically looks great, features look modernised but don’t get in the way of the original release, very faithful to the original and the price tag is only £40 which is looking to be an absolutely incredible deal. Excited for this.

Is anyone else noticing gameplay issues? Like 1:30 when he's running past them in the remaster its like the zombies don't know frank is there like they are slow and dumb and unaware but in the original they see frank they start hoarding and try to lunge grab whenever he's close... how it should be. They changed the attack for the bench to be more swinging but his hands clip through it so all ugly, and with it more swing like instead of a lunge it makes frank look like the fucking hulk all strong like that but also there's no pause or breath at the end to leave you open for an attack destroying the point of using the bench it has the ability to hit a large group but its slow and heavy and you're just a man so its exhausting risk+reward At 5:48 when you hit that zombie with a Baseball Bat, in the original you have to hit the zombie... in the remaster its an animation and it looks like the zombie just being NEAR you goes flying the bat didn't even touch him it looks so janky and goofy like a tech demo. This is making worried they might have made the game dumbed down and easier.

Bodycam Graphic would be Epic

No og voice actor, remade for modern audiences and while it has better graphics it has terrible physics and less gore.

So they took the old Frank design and mixed his look with the DR4 Frank. I'm not sure how I feel about it, gameplay-wise it's still the same game. But there's just something about his original voice and design that will always hit nostalgia right. It won't be the same.

Wish this game had co op it would be so fun.

The Remaster camera is way too close to Frank and way too low. Once again, they're making this absurd mistake, and I won't buy it if it stays like this (Dead Rising is all about navigating zombies and finding routes, zooming in the camera is an IDIOTIC and game breaking choice. Haven't they learned yet?)

I wish we had the time limit optional like DR3! That was my main complaint about the first because I like to explore and fuck around!

The hair does not look better for any of the characters at all… they should have given the hair that treatment used for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Whatever that feature is called that makes the hair look fluffy

the game already has to process a bazillion zombies, making the hair heavy on the processor doesn't make sense. I play dead rising to kill zombies not to see how the industry is improving technically.

@@bardockshiny But dead rising was a showcase of how the game industry was improving. It was meant to show off massive crowds as well as more complex character models. You have to remember that the original game came out in 2006 so it was an early Xbox 360 title

Is this going to be like the forth game where the world interactivity is worse in nearly every way compared to the first game.

No se si soy solo yo, pero el modelo de Frank se ve raro, no solo la cara, si no las proporciones del cuerpo, se ven como algo cartoon no se si me explico

This and Silent Hill 2 remake are examples of games that I feel are unecessary compared to their original versions as in both you lose the original voice actor/actors, even the looks of some of the characters or the main character are deviously inferior or jarringly different. I will say however the psychopaths seem to look better, even some of the effects a bit. At least this game offers the original Frank character model as a pre order bonus. The original character mod for Frank in Dead rising 2 off the record was a game changer for me, it looked incredible and really made you feel like you were playing a direct sequel to Dead rising 1, too bad it wasn't a dlc skin. Maybe they can fix that if they redo off the record and include it as a skin like in this game.

Frank's face is funnier now, I like it... the game always had a interesting sense of humor anyway

Nice the game is definitely improved but I wouldn't say its a complete remake but in between remake and remaster they updated the game but not completely to the point where the game is Unrecognizable and I think the reason for that is they wanted to keep that Authentic look and feel the original game has the character models are improved but still Recognizable still dont like Frank West look but the other characters look like how they look in old game the mall looks improved and not just updated textures added lighting shadows which looks nice my final thoughts the game does look improved but I still think its not worth $60.00 at the most $40.00 I might still buy it at launch but im not sure but its cool that this game got updated with improved graphics
