that's amazing! I love the eerie vibe to the album but especially this video. Out of curiosity did the band have a connection with the kids? I find it interesting and unique that they chose to include the band of children on their album, particularly in My Bodies a Zombie For You (where I think the children's vocals really make the song).

from wiki: Background and development[edit] When Shields and Gosling met in 2005 they discovered a mutual obsession with the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland and decided to write love stories about ghosts and monsters. The pair chose to play all the instruments on the record, even those they had never touched before. They also imposed rules on themselves during the recording process, such as not playing with a click track, and trying to do no more than three takes on any song, letting any imperfections highlight the strengths of the music.[2] On 25 December 2008, Dead Man's Bones released a music video and free download for their song "In The Room Where You Sleep,"[3] and on 4 April 2009, the band released another music video for their song "Name In Stone" on MySpace and KZread. The self-titled debut album from the band featured members of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music's children's choir and was released on 6 October 2009 through ANTI- records and was produced by Tim Anderson of Ima Robot.[4] Gosling and Shields also toured[5] around North America for fall/Halloween 2009[6] with a local choir and talent show at every show to rave reviews.[7] Each children's choir was similar to Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir with whom they recorded the album.[8] In 2010, they released two other music videos for tracks: "Dead Hearts"[9] and "Pa Pa Power".[10] In the closing credits of the 2013 French film Age of Panic, the Dead Man's Bones song "Lose Your Soul" is featured.[11] The Song "In the Room Where you Sleep" was included in the soundtrack of the 2013 film The Conjuring.[12]

I've been listening to this same album for about 5 years now (unfortunately missed it when it first came out), and I think I know now why I love it so much. Ryan and Zach just had a crazy idea and WENT with it. Who would ever have thought that two people from the movie industry would put together an entire album of music based around Halloween with a children's chorus? What you get is exactly in the spirit of Halloween - a not-perfect but truly heartfelt project that embraces the darker aspects of life with a sense of innocence and joy. This, to me, is one of the best Halloween albums, hands down. Thank you for your crazy idea, and for seeing it through.

I love how you interact with the kids, how you make them feel at east and I just know you have made them smile before the video to relax them. Your style is unique and I know there are people out there that will not appreciate ...but that's how people are, they sometimes fear what they don't know...but then proclaim you a genius....some of us recognize it now....as do I. Your portrayal of Lars in 'Lars and the Real Girl' was the best acting I have seen since the greats. Finally..a bright star.

I already liked Ryan Gosling, but now I love him. Look at how creepy everyone is. This is fucking awesome.
Deliciously dark. Who's have thought that Gosling had this running around in his head? Respect.
What a beautiful voice! Never knew that Ryan is a good musician.

So, I've been listening to this band for months now and today I decided to see who was actually in the band. Not what I was expecting at all! Changed my view of Ryan, I had no idea that this kind of thing would come out of him!
The kenergy… In all seriousness though, a big thank you to Mr. Gosling and Mr. Sheilds for producing one of my favorite albums yet!!
How on Earth have I never heard of this?! He's a goid actor and fine af but he's just reached a whole other level.

He is good
from wiki: Background and development[edit] When Shields and Gosling met in 2005 they discovered a mutual obsession with the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland and decided to write love stories about ghosts and monsters.
Woah, his voice, the lyrics. It's so dark I'd have never expected it from Ryan Gosling, but daaaaaaammmmmnnnnnnnnn This is GOLD.
How can we not deeply love Ryan Gosling? Tell me how...
I love this album. Such a great sound - Ryan's voice, the lyrics, the kids, the drums... it's everything!
Почему я это услышала только сейчас!!!??? Где я была раньше!!!??? Обожаю Райана,но не знала,об этой его стороне!!! Восторг!!!! Браво!!!
What an amazing throw back to monster mash, goosebumps type vibe. Always loved this album. So creepy and purty
So not only is he an excellent actor, but he has musical abilities as well! I totally love his singing voice, very unique sound. How I would love to collaborate and lend my musical skills to this group!! Bravo!

A man of genius is a genius in everything
I really like his voice and he is a amazing actor. I think he is a very kind person. I wish him all well. 🥰

something sitting on your bed I saw something touching your head In the room where you sleep In the room where you sleep, where you sleep You better run, you better run You better hide, you better hide You better run I saw something sitting on your bed I saw something touching your head In the room where you sleep In the room where you sleep, where you sleep You better run, you better run You better hide, you better hide There's something in the shadows In the corner of your room A dark heart is beating and waiting for you There is no open window but the floors still creep In the room where you sleep In the room where you sleep, where you sleep You better run, you better run You better hide, you better hide

This is a banger 😮 found this just in time for Halloween
This gave me chills, so good.
I'll forget about this for a year or two, then one day my brain is like,"...i saw something..." and i remember and have to listen.

Love it! Love the entire album! Ryan Gosling never ever ceases to amaze me.
“The Room Where You Sleep” always draws up images of Henry Fuseli’s “The Nightmare, or one of its many versions. The artwork was used in the film Mary Shelley, depicting the night she wrote “Frankenstein”. It’s deliciously ghastly!
