Those announcements over the loudspeaker are creepy as hell.

Just discovered your channel, and ya know, over my 60 years of life, I've seen literally thousands of horror and suspense movies and TV shows, I subscribe to Shudder ,Alter and CryptTV. I've been through dozens and dozens of haunted houses. Halloween is still my favorite holiday. But nothing has creeped me out as much as your videos.. Well done, sir!

Yeah man I still keep thinking he's going to enter the Back Rooms shortly, like in that game.
I don't miss the mullets, or the perfume, or all the bad perms, tacky leather jackets, snazzy neon clothes....but I do miss the mall! Love these remastered videos Dan; brings me back to when I first discovered your channel. Please keep up the great work!

I think people just miss the social aspect of malls. society needs to build more spaces for socializing that aren't primarily for consumerism because that is what made malls die in the first place.
This has always been one of my favorite Dead Mall videos. It's equally nostalgic, eerie, and sad at the same time. Great sound editing too. Great to see a remaster!

I'm okay with that
At 22:20 if you turn up your brightness all the way, you can see a shadow moving all the way down at the end of the room by the exit door, it moves from right to left.

I thought I was the only one that noticed! I realized Dan was standing still, so it couldn't have been his reflection... creepy as hell.
This is one of your best videos I think. The use of the echoed K-Mart tapes in certain places just makes everything so ghostly and creepy. As much as I love the vaporwave artists on here (and I love them) I think the K-Mart muzak tapes add something to it that those artists couldn't, simply because it came directly from the same era as these malls.
Ending is goddamn terrifying. I kept think while watching that there's probably a couple people just trying to stay out of the rain living there, but. Say hi dammit. No need to do a conjuring impression. I'd love to do what you do, but that scenario would have my my blood running like ice water, frozen in place. I'd want way higher light output in those areas than you were carrying. Hats off, Dan. I could do it, but I don't think many can make it look as easy as you do.
It's been great fun re watching all these old dead mall series! Thanks Dan!
Loving your remastered vids SO much. Good job and to all that had a hand in this :D
Thanks for remastering these so they can be fully appreciated. I love the dichotomy in this video between the shots through the main halls with the music, and the creepy storefronts with just the buzz of fluorescent lights.
Always fabulous work Dan, just fantastic. Proud to be a continuing Patreon supporter hon!! 😘♥️
This explore is tied with the Bristol Mall trip for being my favorite. Seeing it again remastered is really awesome. There is so much neon inside of this mall that is lost to the world. There are not many times where someone can explore a place like this, but you definitely took advantage and brought us with you.
“Surreal” is such an accurate way to describe this video. Wild 🤩
I'm back here for a re-watch after Dan mentioned the remastered version on his live stream at the weekend. This is classic DB genius. Good to have you back Dan! 💜
Easily my favorite dead mall video from all creators. The editing, the sound track and audio effects, the limited narration, all of it together showcases this crazy dead mall at night, with the lights on.
Thanks Dan. You’re my favorite KZread channel. I don’t miss any of your videos. ❤️❤️❤️
Hard to imagine this mall used to be packed with people and open stores! I MISS THE 1980s
Love the night ones ✨
This is one of my favorite ones. I think I commented on it back in 2015 :P Good review of it again :)
This was really quite an amazing find and at 6:38 defently hits pretty hard with that neon lighting brings about that Vaporwave feeling 😄 though its a shame they no longer use neon lighting now in malls today always did thought that was a really cool design
18:43 OMG I remember the old Subway wallpaper and yellow wood booth things!
This is a fantastic late night watch, just need a warm blanket and a bowl of popcorn for this one.
I will never not love this video, it’s iconic and simply amazing.
You have a very talented way of editing together ghostly announcements from department stores with these videos. You should make a horror movie where you take the long drive to an old abandoned department store and make a home in it somewhere and after a few weeks, you start to see people from the mall's past such as two girls wearing blue dresses who say "Hello Danny. Come and play with us."
I'd forgotten how this series started out more ethereal and creepy. Nice to rewatch.
By the way I just saw Thor Love & Thunder today at the new Warehouse Cinema in the theater where the old Hoyt’s cinema was at the in Fredrick Town Mall. While we were waiting for our movie we watched your old Fredrick Town Mall videos and amazed at how they renovated the cinema portion. They placed a fake wall where the old entrance to the mall was. The movie theater is actually doing very well. I would love to see you come to the theater and do before and after shot of from 2015 to now. I Grew up going to Fredrick Town Mall and remember seeing it slowly die as time went by. The reason for Fredrick Town Mall’s demise was I repeated in your last Fredrick Town Mall videos. 1. Demographic shifts, around the area of the mall, 2. Increase in crime as a result of said demographic and economic shifts within the Fredrick Town Mall area, 3. Competition from Fredrick Scot Key Mall which is located off Buckeystown Pike near the exits to I-70 East bound to Baltimore or I-270 South bound to Washington DC, and still has a fully functioning Sears that has not closed yet and most people in Fredrick MD Commute to work ever to Baltimore or Washington DC, making it the perfect shopping 🛍 location, and 4. The obvious Online Shopping 🛍
I think it's a good thing many of these malls are fading away. Overdaturation decreases and increases other malls foot traffic subsequently making them destinations once again.
This makes me feel strange, but I quite like it. Liminal spaces are fascinating to me. Thank you for sharing!
Love the vaporwave tunes used in this episode. Cheers 👊🏽☺️
Oh wow thanks for reminding me i need a haircut. That buzzing jsnt going to leave my head anytime soon let me tell you.

Glad to hear this mall is trying to heal, hoping it can. Will take a lot of work. Always exciting to hear about dead malls that make a miraculous recovery, one in my town really turned itself around by having an anchor store thats an antique store.
How are you not scared to do this at night? I would be terrified lol
Hey uh, Dan? What was that movement at the end of the hall at 22:18 to 22:23

How do these places still have electricity. Power companies "abandoned mall. Leave it on. Struggling family of 4 in winter, shut em off.".
God is good… Thank you for Dan Bell! 🙏 🔔
Seeing these dead malls hurts my soul. Pembroke Mall in Virginia Beach closed this year and I had the "honor" of eating the last meal in the mall at the Chinese place. I didn't plan on that, but it's how it went. I even got on the local news for it. I remember when it was full of music and colors and happy people. So many good times as a teen in the 80's. I guess I am blessed to be old enough now to have been young then.
9:47 you can hear a woman go "Who is it?"
Fascinating but sad at the same time to see the sad remains of a era that we so enjoyed in our younger years I’m so glad I lived the mall era today’s young people will never understand the great times we had then we didn’t have the internet the cell phones or social media but we had the mall and we had freedom something that just doesn’t exist today good times great memories
I WANT ALL THAT NEON ❤

Holy shit. Corey Hart at 2/3 speed is terrifying.
this is so beautiful
Seems the vandals were a bit kinder to this one, very enjoyable to see things more or less intact. I really hope the neons survived, they were beautiful.
15:57 One thing I don't miss is Long John Silver's: where the fish tastes like chicken, and the chicken tastes like fish. 🤢
My favorite part of any of your videos was the alien pods/homeless maniquen that was prepared for winter with his black gloves. I actually laughed out loud.
That was funny ass hell at 10:43 🤣🤣🤣
I love this series..
Beautiful mall beautiful ambience...
Did you do those two bits? The one with the outside door and hte bit at the end with the shadow? Nice touches.
Why do these places still have power if there are no stores open?
“…Our associates would be glad to help you…anytime.”
The sound of that wet carpet and incessant buzzing of those florescent lights makes me think you've no clipped into the backrooms
18:37: Ok, I just saw someone moving here through the door?

Dan Bell did a breakdown of the filming of this video. He, in fact wasn't alone, but it was because he filmed it with a friend and actually found a stranger by the end of the video, in the abandoned cinema.
Sals dead mall videos are so much better!
this is liminal space enthusiast heaven!
Wish this music was in a playlist or something
Thankyou
Broooo the Aiden and Silverstein posters!? I'd pay money to collect those 😭
So surreal, I love this shit! I must admit I've never enjoyed the MALL experience more than these kick as vids.
That's some post apocalyptic sh!t right there. This is the next Fallout.
Man I would have salvaged as much cool stuff as I could have like those FYE signs and the circuit city shopping cart
this is the coolest thing ever
This is an insane episode. This mall is literally destroyed. How has it not been torn down already?

I know right? Total jump scare
so funny, ten minutes of utter silence and then, "it's like god damn alien pods".
Does anyone know what store the blue squiggly neon is from?
I've been watching Dan Bell's Dead Mall videos and one thing puzzles me. Like the Frederick Town Mall that appears 100% disused, why are the lights, on wasting electricity ? Also why is this mall open to let vandals in ac use even more destruction ?
This is of my favorite videos of yours. It doesn’t seem real…. Like it’s AI generated or something. Those tree branches are truly bizarre
I love creepy mall videos
This leaves s a lot to be described. So much to be described. OMG.
10:43 LOLz
0:47 - Dan, how did you turn on the lights? I thought the light switches have to be flipped from a panel in a locked control room so morons don't prank people by playing with them.

Play pranks on who? The mall is abandoned.
Are you playing the mall music or is that actually the mall music playing
11:56 "Padre Nuestro Puma" lmao... Pumas is a very well known soccer team here in Mexico. I didn't expect to see something like that. By the way they are playing tomorrow against New England Revolution. I think we're going to win.
Uhhh...did you see the shadow on 22.22 ?? What is that ?
This is the citizen fucking Kane of KZread. Primordial Vaporwave. Dan, this is the first video of yours I saw and I'm a lifer. How did you get in here with electricity and all?
Did any one leave brochurws any mall padmini mall invitations from mall
That's crazy to think we still have that Motorola razr today in 2024. It came a long way from looking like that to being a smartphone model that it is today. Just think shoppers back then at that mall were shopping for the Motorola razr and shoppers today at your local mall right now 2024 can still shop for that same Motorola razr smartphone edition 4:10
Reminds me of Backroom videos. Half expected something unearthly to start chasing you.
do malls in USA have cinemas in it?
Why TF were they throwing the tree limbs into the mall? How bizarre.
I haven’t thought of rave in like 20 years.
Ok l got it the best brings me back 🤘
LMAO at 10:43 😆
My eyes are playing tricks on me, it looks like I can see something moving in the darkness.
you know this mall is vintage when you see cingular phone adds.
10:42 - Now, you just know that there's gotta be urban explorerers who, had they been there instead of Dan, would've done something nasty with that doll. I'm just glad it wasn't the Proper People.
Baskin rovins benn and jerrys
@18:56 My old subway looked like that.
Those 2 old man dummies were creepy as hell. And all the tree branches were weird....
I swear they should just make a horror movies in these malls
Creepy 👍
6:39 OK this is hands down my favorite shot in the episode! Fucking beautifuly creepy! 🥶😍❤
Knock knock...
Oh man this one really is the creepiest place ever
Did I miss why the lights were on? Was that special?
