I would have dropped a 100nF in there, that’s probably what it was originally anyway, I think the cap failed and took out the inductor, those MLCC are prone to failure.

Hi - Do you take commissions for your channel? If I sent you a device would you take a look and see what the problem is - obviously you can keep it the thing if you get it running - FREE STUFF!. It's a Creative mp3 player, jukebox 1 from about 2001. Doesn't power up on PSU or batteries, just a high pitched whine, but no signs of life. Have 3 of these bought as spares over the years, but also a brand new old stock cellophane wrapped one with the same issue, so probably an age related not use related problem? Anyhoo, let me know, thanks.

@@mthobisimngadi9671 I cannot tell you why. Perhaps order another chip and any surrounding parts that may be damaged and hopefully that works
