Im 99.9% sure its a skit where this interviewer makes shit up and tries to annoy the contestants of the singing contest - to see what happens and how the different contestants react when faced with an annoying shit. Im pretty sure everyone knows its a skit, otherwise this kind of humour is common in Swedish culture so all contestants would get whats going on in the end. I - Interviewer, L - Lead singer btw in sweden our curse words are more biblical/different names for the devil etc (fan, djävulen, djävla) instead of sexual/biological like American curse words (fuck, fucking, shit, piss off etc) so imagine a word for the devil/hell related every time there is a shit or fuck here cuz it just doesnt translate well to english most of the time. I: Hi and welcome to a new episode of purple tv with me Christopher, im sitting here with the "metal band" Dead by April who are gonna be participating in Melodifestivalen (swedish song contest to find a winner and send to eurovision). Im a little sceptic (or something i dont really hear what he says). THE metal band in Melodifestivalen, wooo - rock on! (in a sarcastic/condescending tone, cuz its kind of widely viewed that only classic schlager songs can win or calm and catchy songs, any outliers like Lordi who won eurovision are considered to be special cases) So how does it feel now that youre gonna be standing there in all the glitter and glamour, eeh - does this feel like the right place for you? (the classic schlager style has this kind of outfit and visuals etc) L: Ye, I think so, yea. I: *Scoffs at him* Yea sure, ok. (condescendingly) L: You got a probl- Are you making fun of us now or wtf are you doing? I: No, no no but im feeling like, for real not joking feeling like, like youre supposed to be so damn cool and growling and the mohawk and then you hear so much shit about you guys. Ehhh like this here - You (plural) dont drink alchohol, from what i understand. And you Marcus you like to dress up in womens clothing during the evenings, huh is that true? Hue hue. Comfort eating falukorv Pontus eh? Is this something relevant? Something you feel hits home, a little maybe? (falukorv is a processed meat sausage - household basic food in Sweden that young children tend to love) Pontus (the current lead singer in 2022, guy holding the mic for him was the lead singer back then): Yeah no. (Asking his band) Are we gonna take shit from this loser or what? I: Oh cmon wha- loser... stop it. L: But youre a damn loser. I: But im not L: But you are I: But im not L: What kind of damn questions are these? I: I got tons of questions here. L: Youre just making shit up. I: No I dont. L: YES you do! I: OK wait - can i ask one question, ok, uh, like this (directs his voice to the blue hat guy) Youve never kissed a dude then? Look! You can see just from his eye, im not making shit up, this is how i know. I google, i flashba- (flashback is a shitposting really old school forum that swedes liked to use, viewed in a similar manner as teachers view wikipedia - ie not reliable, joke is that he just takes shit from wherever and believes it). Growler (guy sitting on the floor): Even you gotta understand that you have nothing to do with something like this either way? (in the sense of this conversation/interviewers position) I: Sure i do! Growler: No you fucking dont. I: Im supposed to make art- artist, I have a bunch of ar- I hav- eeehh uuuhh, Im a reporter. Growler: Are we gonna take this fucking shit. I: (while growler and L are speaking) Im a reporter, im a reporter. L: Youre not a- Youre a fucking joke. I: You have to answer my questions for fucks sake. L: -A fucking joke, thats what you are. I: No, surely im not. L: A big joke. I: Yea yea yeah, coming from you, standing there being metal in Melodifestivalen. L: Nah, were not taking this. Lets go. I: Stop it- what the fuck. @@jaybirdMUSICIAN so basically the interviewer is trying to be funny and asks stuff like ”do you like to dress up as a girl” and ”do you like to emotionell Eating sausage”? And then Dead by april do not think it is funny at all and start to question like ”is this a joke or are you tryna mess with us” And the comedian start saying ”i mean you alla wanna look so damm cool and growl and stuff in Melodifestivalen” (which is the music competition in Sweden they were competing in that year) and then Sandro says “are we going to take all this shit from this clown and walks away and Jimmie push him off the chair :). I may have forgot some details but that is the whole summary :)
