Deacon Blue - Sydney - December 2 2023
Музыка
Deacon Blue’s third tour down under, this one following a lot closer than their second, left no doubts as to how much Australian audiences love them. And they seemed pretty happy to be back here too. Their concerts are always festive occasions with plenty of energy and audience participation. This tour was entitled “All the Old 45s: The Best of Deacon Blue”, and while there were one or two other hits I would have liked to have heard too, the 22 songs they did play were excellent. I choose some of their biggest numbers to record:
Wages Day (00:03)
Bethlehem Begins (03:24)
Loaded (10:54)
Your Town (17:12)
She’ll Understand (21:25)
Real Gone Kid (24:52)
That’s What We Can Do (32:09)
Dignity (40:57)
Fergus Sings The Blues (45:44)
Deacon Blue may never change the world but they certainly do know how to make their audiences feel a whole lot better. “Sing it together!”

It's been 36 years since I bought their first record (tape) and their voices, especially hers, almost sound the same. You said it in the description; they may not change the world but I still get goosebumps when I hear Dignity. Thank you for sharing.

My 'may not change the world' comment is a paraphrase of Ricky's introduction to Loaded. Personally, I think he's being a little modest. I'm sure there are plenty of people whose world has been changed, at least on a personal level, by Deacon Blue's music. I still get goosebumps hearing a few of their songs. Thanks for commenting.
Great show ... they were awesome!

It was a great night. Thankfully, my sound turned out better than I feared on the night. I wasn't sitting in the best of locations - too close to the huge wall-mounted speakers. Thanks for commenting.
Just love these guys. Songs are fantastic. Thank-you for uploading this❤❤❤

Yes, timeless songs. Sorry the sound isn't as good as it should have been. Lousy seat. Thanks for commenting.

Yes, as always, they put on a truly great show. The video turned out better than I feared. Sitting up front on the balcony you are really a little too close to the huge mounted speakers, and things can get a little distorted. Thankfully, that's not overly obvious in my recording. Thanks for commenting.
Lorraine wow ❤ wow So lucky I was there, in particular for Your Town. Thank you for the replay

Yes absolutely 🎸🎤🎶
Beautifully captured. Smiling and emotional watching that. I caught them in Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh on the recent tour, each show unique in atmosphere and meaning. Ricky talked recently about breaking down the 4th wall between band and audience. When you feel the love you have for a band coming right back at you from all 6 members on stage and you know it's real ❤ Pure joy. Sending much love from Northern Ireland ☘️ Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄

I first saw Deacon Blue on their previous visit to Australia. I was so blown away by that concert that I immediately went home and bought a ticket to their added show a few nights later. Yes, both shows were unique and wonderful. They make every show something special. This time around, they were playing a much bigger theatre and we didn't get a second show. Lucky Perth got three. Thanks very much for commenting.
