De Mello Spirituality Center director Don Joseph Goewey on Stop Fixing Yourself and awareness

Stop Fixing Yourself: Wake Up, All Is Well was written by pioneering Jesuit priest Anthony de Mello and was published and collated posthumously by Don Joseph Goewey, the executive director of the De Mello Spirituality Center, who also formerly managed the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford Medical School as well as a pioneering research institute focusing on methods to cope with catastrophic life events.
Goewey says raising awareness isn't fixing yourself, it's freeing yourself from constant self-improvement.

Anthony de Mello has helped me change my life by dropping the programming. It was painful, but I think being a constant state of fear and anxiety is way more pain than actually stopping and facing myself.

Amazing. Anthony is an angel. He will wake you up with a kiss. Vernon Howard will awaken you with a slap.

I’ve only recently learned about Anthony through a friend and did not know he was a Jesuit priest! When I started listening to his videos, I thought he was involved in the Course in Miracles as what he taught seemed like it came straight out of the Course. God loves us all so much that He makes sure that we will become attracted to the path where we can experience His love!

This podcast is great. I first discovered DeMello in the 80s. This philosophy isn't Catholic teaching. Seems DeMello is first an Indian Buddhist. I will be spending lots of time on these podcasts. Thank you.
