Rest in Power, Trugoy. De La Soul has lost a member, and so damn young too, what a sad day. A lot of modern hip hop stuff is actually still pretty good but there will just never be another hip hop group this good, period.

RIP... Dave Jolicoeur (a.k.a. Trugoy (yogurt) The Dove / Plug 2). Condolences to family and friends. Such a bummer. Thanks for providing something special to me and millions of fans. This sad loss has now closed out my personal favorite Top 3: ATCQ (Phife passed), Beastie Boys (MCA passed), and now De La (Plug 2 passed). All three people mentioned carried such an enormous weight within their respective acts that they can never be replaced. Their passing is felt all over the world. Quick side note... De La represented a period where all members were involved. Notice how the song began with Plug 2, then switched over to Posdonous, then Maseo, then back to Posdonous, and ends with Plug 2 . Or another way to think of it as...2...1...0...1...2. They were a team, brothers, and knew how to work together as a creative unit.

RIP Trugoy! DAMN I miss the 90s! I remember (like yesterday) driving in my car Senior Year of High School bumpin' this joint in my ride, right after I graduated earlier that day! I STILL rock De La to this day, and their music and essence connected with me-and forever will.

I was a freshman in college at N.I.U. in Dekalb, Illinois when this hit Album "De La Soul is Dead" was released. "RING, RING, RING" was the hit single so I bought the CD 💿 and played that song out lol. My Brother and I saw them when they came to our college in 1990 with "A Tribe Called Quest" That was a great show. R.I.P David. Thank you for your great Rap talent over the years 🙏
