That was "Passing Peas" off the De La Soul joint De La Soul Is Dead! Had to download that back the cassette got ate up and then the CD get messed up

Here's a little fun fact, courtesy of Wikipedia: Arsenio introduced De La Soul as "the hippies of hip-hop". The group then performed "Me Myself and I" which explicitly states that they aren't hippies. The credits for the show also began to run over the performance before they were through, also contributing to the "diss". De La Soul recorded the song "Pass the Plugs" features the lyrics "Arsenio dissed us but the crowd kept clapping" in response to the incident.

It's funny how Arsenio called them the hippies of hip hop. They hated being labelled as hippies, and even had a b-side track called "Ain't Hip to be Labeled a Hippie" and there second album was all about distancing themselves from that style and the whole D.A.I.S.Y. Age thing.

Arsenio need to bring his az back to late nights.. Him, InLivingcolor, and cosby show.. and oldschool hip.. need all these things again.

Wow I remember watching this in high school! I love how they incorporated the beats and verses from the remixes in this performance.

20 years of 3 feet high and rising. Im getting old. They have slowly moved into my top 5 groups. They get stronger and stronger.

Actually De La called themselves Hippies back then. That was their gimmick in 89. They called it The Daisy Age! Thats why they dressed like that. So Arsenio wasnt dissing them.
