As Xavi said in the barca documentary: games are won on the midfield. If you control the midfield you controlled the game. Thats why he put Gavi a lot of time as an inverted LW, to create that man more situation on the midfield. It won them the league and clasico’s. This trio is actually extremely similar to modric kroos and casemiro than xavi, iniesta and busquets. De jong got that passing range and press resistance like kroos. Pedri can create stuff out of thin air like modric. And gavi is physical and actually technically better than casemiro was. This trio in their prime would be absolutely crazy.

Gavi is the heart of the team, without him there is no intensity in midfield.. Frenkie is literally Barca's best player and he runs the game so he can't be benched as well.. the competition is between Gundo & Pedri bcs they're kinda similar in passing & creativity but Pedri offers something Gundo doesn't which is.. creating something out of nowhere.. Pedri is a magician 🪄
