de Havilland Mosquito at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2024

de Havilland Mosquito at Warbirds Over Wanaka - 30th and 31st March 2024
Attendees at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2024 were fortunate to see the ex-RNZAF de Havilland (DH98) Mosquito NZ2308 which had just completed a fifteen-year restoration in Auckland. The American owners generously agreed to allow the aircraft to fly at the airshow before being dismantled and shipped to its new home in the US.

Thank you Ray. Wonderful video showing what I consider the best WW2 fight/bomber produced. I had the priviledge of 2-3 fly over my house many years ago here in Wellington. Beautiful machines.

Thanks Ray, you’ve captured the dynamism of the Mossie in this video. I believe the Mossie to be the best multi-role aircraft to come out of WW2, but then I’m biased. Pity it's leaving our backyard. Well done and I look forward to your next venture.

Good to see the Mossie in the Southern Hemisphere. Understandably the owner from USA to wants see it go it's new home. Hopefully it might come back in the future. I met a retired RAAF Wing - Commander (Retired). He flew a Hurricane, a number of different versions of Spitfires, Mustangs, Kittyhawkes and the Mosquito. He said the Mossie was in his expericne the far and best all round aircraft produced by the Allies.
