5:35 - "Hopefully I didn't f**k that up!" - Made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the video - given me confidence I can DIY this on my own set!
Just came across with this channel and it's content is pure gold

Thanks. I’m glad you like it. :)
🇨🇦 Most Canadian moment of your channel. 10:10
Thanks for sharing this. I might try this myself. One question, maybe you said this but is the glue for dampening the aperture ring? Someone on a forum suggested to glue in a piece of PTFE sheet in there, but I don't know what's recommended.

I’m using a grease made specifically for optical helicoids. Other greases can cause hazing over time. Replacing the metal clip with a piece of PTFE sounds like a great option.
Really nice rounded set, I’m looking for a 24 f2.8, 28 f2.8, 35 f2.8, 50 f2 and 100 f2.5

Yeah. I’m pretty happy with that. I’d like to grab the 28mm, not because it fills a gap, but that I understand it’s a total banger or a lens. Also… happy new year!

@@gearheadchannel It's IMHO the best vintage 28mm, a friend has it and tested it with a borrowed Leica R 28mm V2, it was as good and outperformed the Leica.

Ugggghhhhhhhhhh…… ok, I’ll buy one. Lol
Where can you buy those ("GIS") screwdrivers? My searches didn't catch anything

They are JIS “Japanese industrial standard”

@@gearheadchannel Gotcha, found a bunch now from Vessel and Wera (German brand, I think, I'm in Europe). Someone (on the internet) said that 1.4mm, 1.7mm and 2mm are essential for camera repair. Only found 2mm and a bunch of others but not those particular sizes. I'll keep looking.
I'm going to take apart a lens that I sank in a river to see it I can doctor it up. The electronics are toast but I rarely use autofocus anyway.

I sent a few lenses and a 7D into the river at the same time.I submitted an insurance claim to cover it all. FYI. Don't buy a soft Lowepro waterproof bag.

Oof! Probably would’ve had better luck with zip-locs.
