That's what most of Boerne used to look like. The old folks died, kids couldn't share, started seeing dollar signs. This video was made years ago and Kendall county keeps growing. I remember when a water district was created because the growth was outpacing the supply. That was also years ago. I'm very curious. Did Kendall county suddenly, miraculously have a new aquifer pop up? Nope. The leaders don't give a shift. If they can squeeze five or six hundred more houses onto a hundred acres every chance they get then isn't it grand. Progress sure feels like rape and if a person knew where to look they might find the ethics and legality is just about the same.

@@karenphoenix8777 absolutely. My great and grand parents didn't have much of a yard, this isn't lawn friendly land. A few flowers inside the fence that kept the cows off the porch, but pouring water on the ground to have a lawn at least twice as big as your house was unheard of here. For good reason. The people moving in have probably never experienced a well going dry. ABSOLUTELY NOT A DROP. When it starts getting to the point you are expecting your well will go dry you start having the kids share bath water. Really not a big deal, you get a rinse of clean water but the tub water isn't unable to work with soap to get the dirt off. If things are drastic, that tub water goes out to the garden instead of down the drain. Also begins the emergency procedure called "If it's yellow, if it's brown". People seem to think that as modern people we are technologically advanced to the point that water will just be there. Or that the rich can afford the extra charge for water so they can waste at will. How much water is diverted to storm drains because the natural recharge is prevented by new construction? I watched a video here on YT that showed how a growing strong town is actually the same as a pond scheme. I wish I had the link because it put words to what we have been watching for the past 30 years. Has anyone done a study on how much the average 2.5 bath home has in water sitting in each toilet at any given time? How many homes have 3 or more toilets? 3 in the house, one in the workroom in the unattached garage, one in the basement game room? If those are cleaned, once a week, how much water is being sent to treatment facilities just so people don't have to share a toilet? Why have we become so fragile in our need for privacy and the nightmare of having to wait for just a little bit to take your turn? There is so much wailing and rending of cloth over environmental damage. This is done by people who can't fathom maybe starting to build houses with up to four bedrooms but one toilet. The multiple toilet house started as a status symbol now it's almost considered a human right. How many environmental justice berserkers know how to hang out their clothes? How much water could be saved in electricity production? Clothes dryers, it is agreed, are power hungry. How much is saved by just hanging out clothes?

OMG, we must be sharing a mind on some cosmic level. The only reason I didn't write about yards, toilets, clothes lines, rich people's sprinkler systems and my all time favorite, If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down. is because I get tired of writing all that and nobody ever pays much attention. I grew up and remain in small town Texas. However it required a move after my home town in Kendall county was named the fastest growing county in the country. The people moving in are not really mega rich, maybe a few billionaires but a lot of millionaires. They want what they want when they want it! Wrecked the school system. Dress code had been in effect since the school district started and while kids felt so abused, I now see the benefit. We moved about 50 miles away and built a new house. You would not believe how much discussion (argument) went into making my builder understand that there would be ONE bathroom. Yes there are four bedrooms but one is my "nest". I can knit, embroider, whatever and watch TV. It has a queen size Murphy bed. We are in the middle of a ranch and when the family comes, there's room. I can close off the part of the house not in use and keep the temp separate until needed. At that time, we will share a bathroom. If a family of four shares a bath, water is saved because you have to be faster. Daddies usually bathe last and heaven help us all if there's no hot water! I don't know if there have been any studies done but it doesn't seem to cause any lasting emotional damage to dry your hair in your room. I think it's relatively safe to put on your makeup and get dressed in there as well. The other thing that my builder could not wrap his head around was I didn't want a dishwasher. I agreed to have a cabinet that could be used to put one in if I ever changed my mind but it's just my husband and I and I've never had a dishwasher that cleaned that well. Unless you run it every day, you have to almost pre wash the dishes. I won't run less than a full load. It's easier to just wash the dishes. The only time there are alot of dishes there are also alot of kids. What kind of granny would I be if I didn't teach them how to do dishes like we did in the olden days?😉 Same with hanging clothes. They call it my solar powered dryer. To me, hanging is much more efficient. As I take clothes out of washer I sort them according to how they will be put up. I match the socks so when they come down, whip snap they are done. By the time I'm done taking cloths off the line, everything is folded and ready to put up. Clean sheet day is a ritual. After the clean sheets go on the bed, I wash my hair, shave what needs shaving and put on clean gown. My husband knows that tomorrow is another day but nothing shall defile the sanctity of the clean sheet. When I first heard of an HOA I was astounded, appalled that anyone would agree to be governed regarding their own home, the property it's on, their mailbox?! No clothesline? Are they afraid the neighbors would find out they wear clean under drawers? In our early years, I've hung diapers on the fence because I ran out of clothesline!

If you have to ask "how much"...you can't afford this gem. You think they would have a pool !! Maybe the state would buy it...make it a wildlife recreational area...cause it's hard to find a place to hunt in Texas. & no one can afford this spread...
