Suppressor was never the reason why gadget was op, it was supercharges because of gemini spam, and the stealth gimmicks, suppressor clipping was just a plus

In the era of stat clamping I think the focus should be more on buffing the lowers power sets rather than nerfing the “top” power. This game does not power balance nor weapon balance well and it has always been up the player base to come up with creative ways to enhance power set rotations all of which are optional for players who would prefer to play more causally (weapon taps, art swapping, clipping, etc.). I just don’t think it’s the right move to punish player creativity especially without an effective alternative or solution.

They aren't punishing "non-casual" players. Using powers and clipping so that it doesn't cost power? This was just obviously an exploit that should have been addressed a long time ago

@@MrCavonta specifically for the suppressor turret, it is more of a “cancel” than a “clip” meaning that the power was canceled before the full benefits of the power were used. So why should a canceled ability cost power/supercharge? Especially with all the blocking and moving involved in mechanics. And even if that’s isn’t how the devs intended for the power to be used they’ve had years to express that with appropriate alternatives bc clipping/canceling isn’t by any means new.

I believe they did this on purpose. They know power trolling is fading and this is going to mike it more necessary.

@@ObsidianChill I'm in favor of blanket buffs vs taking away the only thing that makes Gadgets fun to me. Gadgets went from very strong to op after Strategist Card came out. It was at the point that other powers should have been balanced towards. It's unfortunate how powers must be "balanced" due to the inherent imbalances caused by artifacts, which was heavily hinted at upon their releases. That said, I'm not going to fret over any changes, even to ST. Those are just my minute feelings towards the subject, because in reality i have a great deal of apathy towards this stale meta and nothing is going to make it more interesting.

@@hollow.13 the meta has been bad for awhile, im hope now that the devs got alot of the logistical changes out last year we can push more for powerset adjustments. The dev that has taken over for batuba has had enough time to learn the ropes and with less artifacts coming out and allies not being OP in general there should be time to focus on what matters and taking a look through the powersets for QOL adjustments

I already ran a raid with gadgets dps burning 3/4th their power bar the second we got to some ads. And yes it was ‘me not knowing what I was going’. Now I know why.

It's the same for prec fire dps using masdet clip. It was a nerf not really a nerf. I agree they should fix the underlying issues. In reality the wm brawling clip shouldn't happen to being with because of wm has a cast bar but it still does that's where the prec underlying issue is in a way.

Do you think prec gadget is still worth it? I was might munitions and switching to gadgets I felt like I didn't have much power for my rotations which wasn't the case with might munitions.

In prec, you don’t always have to go full button spam on rotation, I run out of power due to clipping so fast out of stealth and into suppressor turret, so I’ve learned to wait for at least a quarter of power so I can go back into stealth and get my battle display. Just gotta manage it really, I still do a shit ton of damage though. Try electricity prec, it’s really good right now with scrap, beats having no power tbh.

All these changes have been in place for hl for years the copter super if your hit you lose it. These fixes not nurf where needed. Btw still nice vid

You cant build a solid dps might rotation that just uses suppressor turret and not the clip trick? What is the current mid ranged might dps build? Sorry been gone a while looking to jump back in. My old build was heat vision, cryo foam, freeze breath and p dart. I kept suppressor turret out full time.

I'm the only gadget player in the game who plays it how it supposed to be played this doesn't affect. Clipping all that crap thank God they fixing this stuff.

Not really a nerf is it more of mechanical fix idk why the gadgets are freaking out about it fire and ice were able to do the same with the channeling move. I figured something was off when I used it on ice 😆 and lost half my power

RSK for single target definitely. Suppressor Turret actually cooks in AOE when P.I.s are active but it still might be even more advantageous to use it for AOE clipping depending on your LO.

gadgets is the best dps wise but it eats so much power that no troll can keep up in elite raids. I would say muni is prob the best might/prec dps rn.

Is there a combination of artifacts that controllers can use to compensate for this ?

a buff troll build unless they are high stats would be hard pressed to keep it powered but still any power troll build with amulet/power harness/scrap or even technically a BOP+strat build could work as well because you want higher power over time not necessarily more burst power

I still say even buff trolls should run vit origin augments. Vit augments still give like 80%-ish of the health that dom augments give but dom augments obviously give zero vit. The tradeoff isn’t worth it IMO. Adaptives are different obviously. The 3% health (in content) per augment is pretty significant. But the extra health from dom augs over vit augs is minuscule. So that’s something trolls can do.

With my 267sp in might/power and all power gen mods this change didn’t affect anything for me in raids with a troll. Every once in a while in a raid my power bar will get down to 10%-ish at the point where I need to stealth clip and I’ll just clip a soda instead of taser pull. The Elite alert with no troll is a different story. The struggle is real…but still manageable. Some things people can do to help mitigate is run the replenishing adapter (blast does so little damage anyways) swap prec face mod for precision and power (180ish hit to prec) and swap some or all health gen mods (for buff trolling) to power. And of course, grind SP to put in might/power. I also considered running Lexcorp Drone as my pet for the 2% power but ever since the tier system there’s a gigantic difference in damage between Lexcorp and Tier 3 pets. It might still be worth it for elite alerts though since absolute max burn isn’t necessary for completion.

true, the power mods give alot these days. You really just have to move away from the buff troll build, or at least to maximize it, and you'll still be fine as gadgets using normal rotations

because every power had access to phase dodge clipping which did the same thing. Now there is only one ability that functions the same way in suppressor turret which isn't balanced.

also a supercharge pass is eventually coming so I'm not too worried about how supercharges will turn out. During the unfinished SC pass Circuit Breaker saw a nerf of 40% on test server

@@whosurjustin seeing gadgets being the most used powerset since the solar amplifier nerf and every single COUE comp video being gadgets prec how is that any better for DCUO when its just all the same power and same rotation that every player is using? The point of a weapons pass would be to open up more than just the same 2 weapon combos that prec players only use and precision changes in general would mean you'd see more of a mix between might and prec players instead of only seeing dual wield flurry shotting dps in any speed run video dating back a year. Supercharge pass would see players not just using Zerk/CB and Neo Venom on every single build. It's the complete opposite of a cookie cutter game im trying to fight for.

@@ObsidianChill Again, you seem to be solely focused on the prec side of things. I'm not disagreeing with a weapon's pass. That is desperately needed. But ST jump clip was thing since the inception of the game, WAY before weapon mastery was ever a thing. Why not advocate for robot sidekick to have the same mechanics as ST instead? That way every powerset will rethink what the optimal rotations are with an ability to jump clip and cast another might power and/or prec combo.

I've only ever been gadgets since 1/3/11. I've never done any of these cheats, and I'm on top of the scoreboard almost every instance. Just play the game properly and stop looking for ways to cheat/ruin every single video game. Use power interactions and play right. There's obviously a problem if you have a turret in your rotation, yet you never have a turret. STOP CHEATING EVERY GAME.

They don’t need to nerf gadgets they need to just make phase dodge have same cooldown as suppressor turret… unless in tank form then it has longer cooldown… it’s really that simple doing that alon would make all other powers way stronger alone without the bs nerf

Phase dodger is too op to get 3 sec cd,to get a good nerf they should have made suppressor turret non clippable,mine as well,like the side kick robot,what they do now is ok but not fair for other powers,as biggun of munition and other skills

You will lose buff trolls in the raid by this,cause it can't handle a gadget spam anymore,so you get less buffs and at the end is not worth anymore,for me mana troll is more fun,but raid will take moooore time to get complete,to me this is a lose

@@LIGHTSTORM22 they're usually doubling power recieved of my healers in group besides water since they can pretty much reset themselves. Easily made adjustments for them though. Philosophers Stone is really good for them now lol
