Big fan of Aluinium skins meself and I totally agree, there's a lot more to it than some would have believe! That and small things like tyres and such are an obsession of mine, have been for years.

When I started DCS, my computer could only handle it in small doses…. Like a simple mission with 3 or 4 adversaries. I bought your Wolfpack campaign knowing I couldn’t play it because 1/3: I wanted to support WWII content, 2/3 I wanted to support P-47 content, and 3/3 I just wanted your skins! I know I could have just downloaded them from the user files for free, but I like having your skins baked into my DCS… just like now…. I know DCS will update your skins for me when the update is available, and I don’t have to hunt around and re-download a bunch of skins! Thank you for the continued updates/support, and the content!

Video from Reflected ... click like before the intro is even played. Now I kind of understand roughmets and metal textures and I want to fly warbirds. One cool thing about DCS is that it's a virtual airplane museum, and improving this artwork makes it even better!

It’s a good substitute for plastic modeling too. You can fly the plane you paint and it doesn’t take up shelf space :)

This is my biggest problem with any module/flight sim addon: when they do an old aircraft, it's either mirror finish or flat looking paint.

Ya man, gimme the shiny luminum planes. The P-51 with the blue nose and aluminium skin were really beautiful. If your plane is dull with aluminium oxyde, yo need to put the boot to your crew chief. Those rainy English days are perfect to keep the enlisted men busy. Funny story: The RCAF had F-104s, silver for the most part. We kept them so long and polished the crap out of them and they had to stop doing it because some parts of the skin were gettin too thin. Urban legend?

Indeed, you can't fake polished aluminum in real-life aircraft - though many have tried - and it is indeed a notable advance in graphics that it can look convincing in a computer simulation. Outstanding, as always Relected 👍

Depends...if you have Wolfpack installed, it will be automatic. If you don't and you just downloaded these from the user files, you need to redownload them.

Absolutely zero impact. The skins were always used in the campaign, now they just changed a bit.

I am 3D modeller and have made planes for xplane for more than 10 years. I want to to say that, because I recomend you Substance Painter, you would love it and see the result inmediatelly. BUT you need the 3D model of the object to paint over. I didn't try to see if I could convert the edm models into obj format or something compatible. I say it in case you want to take a look.

I have some friends who use Substance, but somehow lighting is different there than in game. So you need to fine tune it again...

@@ReflectedSimulations I didnt have a "Liveries" folder in saved games so I created one and dropped it there. Seems to work and I can backup my saved games folder easier anyway. This is where I ended up. *Your disk*:\Users\*your user name*\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\P-47D-30\56th FG 61st FS NM by Reflected Love the skin thanks dude youre a champ!
