@@suomi1483 the original av8a is British. The Brits invented the first VTOL jet. The av8b is joint British and American. Brits sold the original harrier to the USA.

You had some back drift there and you should have been at 120 feet before crossing over, but the quality of the landing was absolutely perfect. You were right on the tram. Awesome video.

It is the first video I see someone lands the harrier like a professional, most people take off and land the harrier like a common jet.

You ALWAYS have that fuel left, because the range of speeds at which a conventional landing can be done is narrow due to relatively vulnerable outrigger undercarriage (although a conventional landing is possible). Operationally, a near-vertical landing with some forward speed is preferred. It has nothing to do with the fuel. You always have the reserve. Harrier pilots are not suicidal... when they're running out of fuel, they return long before it gets critical.

Harrier can't hang up for such a long time. His engines are cooled with water, which stored in a special tank on board. The volume of this tank is enough for smth about 30 seconds of flying in hover mode. Then engines definately go overheat.

Nah, with half fuel load and no stores it can hover without water injection

Well in some cases this does happen, when carriers are traveling at about 30kts, the harrier will adjust accordingly.

Really good landing, with some more practice you can land in half the time it took you in the video. there are some marine harrier landing videos using vtol and you will see that it takes them very little time to land, they don't take any time hovering around. p.s. nice Royal Navy livery, i'm also from the UK :)

I have never played DCS can someone roughly tell me how much I need for joystick and rudder, CPU and vr

Joystick is a must-have, a lot of joysticks have a rotating ability, therefore you can map it to your rudder, so pedals are not necessary. I also recommend you to get some head tracking device, such as TrackIR or some cheaper alternatives. Also make sure that your PC can actually run the sim - you can find the requirements on the DCS web page - you should not rely on the minimum required specs, aim for recommended and higher.

This is a free sim and you can find a basic joystick on amazon for $20 or look for better used ones on eBay.

logitech 3d pro is 34.99. will last you a couple years of hard gaming. You don't need the harrier or extra maps to play dcs, so no, hes not full of shit. go bitch like a spoiled preteen girl elsewhere

Man I can't stand the damn audio loop. Biggest reason I haven't bought the harrier yet. Horrible audio.
