Water Pressure. Unfortunately, the F32 has water pickups through the bottom a couple feet forward of the transom. We now build them with adjustable pickups at the transom. Over 170, the boat is just skimming the water where the bottom pickup is, so there was erradic pressure.

they are aerator tubes. They allow the props to suck air while submerged, inducing cavitation. They aid in getting on plane.

You can tell a boat is set up proper when it's not throwing all that water high in the air. Good forward momentum, especially in a cat that doesn't need bow lift requires you keep those drives inline and level instead of pointing to the sky.

On the F 32 model of DCB boats the water pick up is a little bit forward of the transom. At over 170 it picks up water sporadically which causes the gauges to go funky, they corrected the problem with multi angle pick-ups mounted to the transom on all new DCBs

Can someone explain the mystery why off shore boats use blowers rather than turbocharges? I know that you guys are aware the horse power difference cubic inch to cubic inch is huge. So why? I dont know how many inches the 1350's are Im going to guess and say 540 or so. I will also assume they run on pump gas and you're probably turning them 6800rpm with 16 psi ? and youre making 1350 hp @ 6400 rpm? Now take all the same numbers and run twin 88mm turbos, *8psi each with the right tune A Motech or F.A.S.T ecu and at 6200 you would make close to 2000hp and probably 1400 ft lbs. easy with a 540ci. and pump gas. The turbo motor will deliver better fuel economy, run much cooler and obviously last a lot longer. I mean really there are guys making 2500 hp with 450 cubic in small blocks,. yeah a lot more boost, not pump gas, and at the power level wouldnt last long under the load of the out drives. My point is the turbo in all areas that I know of makes more sense. So I must be missing something because you just dont see a lot of them. Not for nothing but Eikert who is or was one of the best off shore motor guys on the planet would say the same thing. So Im all ears..do tell please.......Oh and another question. Why when guys are doing a DCB, Skater, or an Appache and money is not an issue to these guys why not run the Arnesson surface drives.? Again they do everything better correct? get on plane faster offer a lot less drag which = more top speed. And are they not cheaper over all that the big #6 Mercs?
