The temperature rise inside the coil can be significant, as much as 25ºC, or more, above ambient depending upon the type of relay. For example, a Durakool DY Series industrial relay with a 0.9W coil can get to 95ºC inside the coil, when operating at its specified maximum temperature of 70ºC.
