Dayton 4C154C 24" 2-Speed Fan Tested at Full Power

Ғылым және технология

The previous video of this Dayton 4C154C 24" 2-speed pedestal fan only showed it running at low speed due to the damaged switch. Here we will demonstrate the unit at full power.

This is a very well done video. I’m glad you were able to get the switch at least operable and the blades somewhat balanced. I’m looking forward to the cleaning and service video along with the balancing of the blade. Thank you for sharing as always. I enjoyed the video. I also like how this fan has a very industrial type startup sound.

Nice fan. I want one of these for my garage. Perfect size and the 2 speed motor makes it even cooler, literally. 👌

Also, that motor was designed to run on 115 volts. The 116 volts is almost the perfect voltage for it.

That fan has held up pretty well for being from the mid 80s I'm looking forward to the servicing video, like you said I don't think it will need much besides a new cord, switch and a blade alignment. I never really liked the pull cords very much due to how easily they can snap I really only see them being useful in a wall mount scenario I don't see why they couldn't have used a regular knob like the pattons use.

Indeed, it's hard to find these in good condition since they were typically used commercially.

I'd still replace the blade in my opinion playing with a metal blades that is that badly mangled can be tricky to get it balanced and in correct pitch and clock but thats just my opinion and about the base that is the original base believe it or not ive seen those with that same base in a couple of youtube videos from various people so i guess that answered your question

This is kind of off topic, but i think Holmes just recently stopped manufacturing box fans completely, and aren’t even on their website anymore.

@@JordanU they sure were lol, i had one when i was little in the early 2010s, because we were at an airport hotel and needed a fan, so my mom bought one of them. Then about a year later ive started to notice that it started to get underpowered compared to my other box fans. Im guessing they didn’t put very good capacitors in those fans when they first came out with them.
