This is exactly what is missing from soaps of today and had led to their demise! If they only understood what is unique about soaps that is not found in any other form of entertainment! This was beautiful! The Days I remember!

I'm sixty-one, and I watched Days of our Lives with my grandmother when I was a little girl. Days is the only soap opera that held my interest.

Today, this has more meaning that most could ever know. In memory of Frances Reid, we will be loving you- ALWAYS!

I will always remember Doug from days of our lives Bill Hayes. I’ve been watching days of our lives since I was 17 and I will be 60 in two weeks at sad news because they were my favorite couple of days besides Bo and hope😂😂😂😂

Truly truly TRULY a timeless moment. To this day it brings tears to my eyes. This song expresses a true declaration of love, trust and devotion. I wrote down the lyrics to this song in a birthday card for my boyfriend. And here we are - almost 14 years together - and it still applies to us. I grew up watching this show and love the relationships in it. But there will never ever be one like Tom & Alice Horton. God Bless McDonald Carey & Francis Reid for their talent and truth to their craft

Isn't that Margo Anderson with Mike Horton (Wesley Eure)? Loved those two together. Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) gave the best dramatic face/pause in daytime ever. Loved when she would turn her head and look so sad.

Rick Guthrie who played David was one of my best friends. I was so shocked by his early death caused by a bad combination of heart medication (happens ofen) at 45. I miss him. Thank you for this clip.

The little girl in this video is Hope, played by a younger actress, years before Kristian took over the role. Wesley Eure from Land Of The Lost played Mike Horton at the time.

Richard Guthre was a neighbor of mine for 3yrs...out apartments were on HOLLYWOOD and FULLER ave.... we had a ball out by the pool.... smoking some pot..and soaking up the sun...eating pizza at night.... Miss U buddy!! Peter C in L.A.

He is probably most remembered as David Banning. Greg Marx played the role for a few years -- but not as long as Richard. I had read that he passed some time ago -- very sad.

Wow, stumbled across this by accident and it brought back so many memories. I grew up in front of a TV and the Horton's just seemed like a part of our life. Wesley Eure and all of the cast were masters of emotions with the ever changing fast twist that you looked forward to seeing just how it things could possiably work out! The one thing you new you could count on not changing on Days Of Our Lives, was the Horton's and their amazing love for each other.

Macdonald & Francis had such an amazing chemistry. R.I.P. Macdonald Carey & Francis Reid. The cornerstones & foundation of DOOL. Miss them both

i wish they would do more singing on today's days shows. they have a lot of potential especially with chloe and stefano - it would be much more f un to see that than the depressing story lines!

Tom, Jr. -- or Tommy. The actor who played him died, but on the show they still refer to him as being alive.

Yeah I guess you're right. Doug went gray in the 80's

That is what I thought. But I have not gotten to watch much lately.

I recall Julie being burned at a barbeque grill. The fire had become too high, I think. I distinctly remembered that. I was either 14 or 15 years old at the time.

It was an accident with a faulty gas oven (indoor) she was using. I think it was at Maggie's farmhouse, but not exactly sure on the details. It led to her first divorce from Doug. I think they divorced a second time before finally reuniting permanently in the late 90s or thereabout.

I was mad that John and Marlena did not get a big sendoff or something other than 2 witnesses for a wedding and see ya.. so if they don't do justice for Frances Reid, the show can just ... well you know.

No. Alice is still alive as is her portrayor Frances Reid. She was last seen Christmas 2007.

The original Hope is there. She went off to camp as a child and came back as 20 something years old Hope. What happened to the child Hope and what's she up to now?

Why was Julie sad? This was before my time so I am not sure what was going on.

Julie was having an affair at the time if I remember correctly, or it might have been Doug. She was the "Sammie" when she was the younger star.. that is why she can spot trouble a mile away now. NBC is having so many problems, no ratings.. TOO many times did DOOL let a star go instead of paying them what they wanted, only to have to pay to get them back later on. Sad.. Tony, Anna, Steve and Kayla, Chelsea... are all going soon.. I think the show has maybe 2 years before it's cancelled.

Now Days has men kissing. Times have changed.
