George (Gabby) Hayes was retired at the age of 40 from performing on the stage when he lost most of his money in the 1929 stock market crash. His wife talked him into going to California and he worked steadily as a side kick in cowboy movies. He was "windy halliday" with Hopalong Cassidy but when he left over a salary dispute he was barred from using "windy" so he took up "Gabby". Worked in over 180 films, had a tv series and dang nabbit he had a comic book named after him.. Did not learn to ride a horse until he was 50. Two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. IMDB

Roy Rogers was born in cincinnati 2nd base at riverfront stadium was where the family home was located. Moved to california, founded the Sons of Pioneers. Made over 100 movies and lived next door to Val Kilmer's family when Val was growing up. When Roy moved the Kilmers moved into his ranch. In 1999 Val Kilmer brought a trigger look alike to the Academy Awards to honor Roy. Has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Happy Trails was written by Dale Evans. All from IMDB>
