@@runNgun1516 I was the same way exact way. Especially on her first day not going to lie I cried because I was scared and I am very protective of my daughter. I don’t know the people who will be teaching and watching her and i am still not happy about the situation. I know you feel the same way. The good thing is that your daughter is going to learn quick and become and more smart plus she’s going to make friends. My daughter has made a lot of friends and is now talking a lot more and expressing herself. You will be fine bro and she will be happy. You always got me here to talk bro so we can express how we feel as our babies are taking a next step in life .

Wow this was such a great video my son goes to La Petite and he just graduated to the one-year-old room. Based off your tips I've done pretty good except I have snuck out a handful of times I didn't even think about the possibility of creating anxiety. Definitely will not do that again. When my wife and I dropped him off the first time when he was an infant man that killed me I had to put my hat over my face so I was crying pretty hard. One thing I say to all of the teachers is how much we appreciate their hardwork and over Christmas my wife had gifts for everyone. They all were very grateful and surprised!

That's so sweet of you guys! It really is a surprise because there are not a ton of thank yous in the daycare world unfortunately 😅 it is SO HARD dropping them off when they're tiny. I feel like we wait for the kids to adjust but it's also a time of adjustment for us as parents too, trusting our babies with somebody new.

First time mom from South Africa.. my son is 3 years old and started daycare yesterday. Surprisingly, there were no tears (probably cause I got him engaged so he was fascinated with the toys) which eased my anxiety a great deal. But today, he cried and it broke my heart but I took your advice and gave him a kiss, hug and waved goodbye and told him I'll be back. Whew!! This parenthood journey is rough.

Unfortunately he only knows me, it's only been the 2of us and he's very much so attached. I like when u said to ask the teacher to text you when they have stopped crying. I just don't want to traumatize him. He will only be going for half a day, I am a stay at home mom actually so perhaps this is silly but I want him to have an easy and smooth transition when he starts school.

You go with your mom gut! Worst case, you try it out and it's not a good fit do you bring him back home ❤️ It's a blessing you're in a position where you can try it out without the pressure of working outside the house on your back 😊 There are other ways to socialize too! Library reading groups, MOPS, church. Don't feel pressured to do daycare if it's not what you want.

As soon as I give my son (13 months old) to the teacher this morning he cried , it’s his 3rd day in the daycare. He is used of going to sleep while breastfeeding and so now they have a hard time putting him to sleep without me beside him. I realized that’s one of my mistakes as a first time mom. The teacher told me he’s always crying. I’ve never experienced him crying beyond 3 minutes but in the daycare according to the teacher he cried 20-30 minutes. That really is so heartbreaking for me 😢

That's so so hard 💔 It's going to take him a while to adjust to falling asleep a different way. If you can, i'd start training him to fall asleep a different way at home too so hes always falling asleep the same way. Can he have a water bottle or something to lay with during nap? That's how I weaned my daughter from breastfeeding. I gave her a soft-tip water bottle and she took it to bed with her every night.

It's so so hard at first! 💔 can their teachers text you to let you know when they stop crying? That used to help me a lot with my son. The initial goodbye can be hard, especially if your kids have never been away from you before. They just need time to trust that they're safe at daycare and to see that Mommy will come back at the end of the day. If you aren't already, it might help your three-year-old at least to tell them that "Mommy comes back after nap time" or whatever time you're going to end up picking up. For your one-year-old, you could just say "mama will be back!" They just need to witness you coming back multiple times so they can build that routine and trust up. It is so super hard though.

I feel soo horrible and wonder if he just doesn’t like the environment or is still adjusting. I’m sticking it out because I know it’ll be beneficial for him in the long run. But I def have thought about sending him back to granny’s house

Hi thanks for these awesome tips! I need your advice. My 18 month old goes to daycare twice a week, Thursday and Friday for 5h each day. He was fine on the first week but on his second week, he was crying , doesn’t want to eat much when he is there and doesn’t want to play and engage with others . He is fine once he is home. It breaks my heart to see him like that. Should I do a shorter day of 2h-3h at the daycare so that it eases his transition better and gradually increases to 5h or should I stick to 5h and persist it for another few weeks ?

In my experience 2 days for kids that young just isn't enough 😔 it doesn't become routine because it's only a brief time and then normal home life resumes, and they're too little for you to explain to them that daycare is only on Thursdays and Fridays. Is there a way to do three days instead of just two so he has more time to get used to the new place and new people? I know daycare costs are pretty bananas right now so that might be hard. Are you working part time and that's why you only need the 2 days?

This video is really helpful. We started daycare for our 23 month old two weeks back and the first week she seemed okay. She was playing well. The second week she started crying when I dropped her off. Also she got sick the both weeks with different viral infections. Now the sad part is that she doesn’t even want to get in car and dressed up thinking that she’s going to daycare. I’m nervous to send her again next week.. btw she is recovering now. Do you have any tips for making it a smooth transition next week? She is there for 6 hours a day for 5 days a week.

It sounds like if she was having fun at first, she'll be able to get to that point again. She's at an age where separation anxiety is super normal too 😊 I'm so sorry she got sick! Unfortunately that's a side effect of starting daycare and takes a long time for kids to build their immune systems up. I would try to hype it up as much as you can and make it exciting. If she's really fighting you, maybe get her a new coat or new rain boots or something that are special for her to wear ONLY at daycare. Call them her daycare boots. Stuff like that tends to work really well with littles ❤️ Get her excited to show her teacher and don't let her wear them until its time for daycare. I might research some immune boosting vitamins too if you're worried about her getting sick again. Not a guarantee, but it doesn't hurt! Good luck!

Awe sweet boy. It's a big adjustment. Honestly if daycare has him exhausted at the end of the day I'd let him wind down with a snack and a TV show for a little bit. We do that with my son whose in Kindergarten now. Or sometimes I'll take out coloring or play doh. Something calm and quiet to play with. And I don't do a lot of talking. I just let him be because he's had a long day of interactions and just needs a brain break.

That's so tough. Is there a way you can change your schedule somehow so that they go two days in a row? It's hard and confusing for little ones to go to daycare one day, then home two days, then daycare again. Part of the peace kids get after attending for a while is knowing what to expect. If you can't do two days in a row, is there a way you can make daycare days look exactly the same? You eat the same thing for breakfast, arrive at the same time, pick them up at the same time, etc. That way over time he'll realize from the time he gets up that this day is a daycare day. You could even start telling him "today is a daycare day" in your happy mom voice. And really play that up.

My biggest tip for this would be to give her teacher your cell phone number and ask if she'd be willing to update you throughout the day, at least for the first few days ❤️ I would mentally prepare that she's going to have a hard first couple of days. Give the teacher any advice on how best to calm her and help her feel safe, so she can copy what you do and hopefully start building that bond with your daughter. For kids who haven't been in daycare before, her age is pretty tough and it takes a while for them to settle in. Try to be an example and show her you're excited for her to have fun at daycare! If she sees mama is worried and sad, she'll never settle ❤️

Like sit on the floor with him so he knows you're going to stay for a bit, and he can try to get comfortable? Or maybe have a special stuffed animal he can hug when he's missing you? You didn't say how old he is, but for some kids it is super super hard to be away from mom 😔 I might shop for a different daycare if they keep calling you to come get him though, depending on how long he's been attending. Some teachers know just what to do for sad kids, and others just don't have the experience yet.

That's so hard ❤ One positive thing I can see is that if she's following the teacher around that means she trusts her. That's a good thing. Does she cry the whole time or does she just quietly stick to her teacher? I would say if she's not crying the whole time maybe give her another week or two to see if she starts to open up and play with other kids. Is she eating well there and playing at all? Can you speak to her teacher about it and ask what she thinks? She might be able to offer some insight or comfort to you ❤ In the end trust your mom gut. I would say if after a whole month of being there she's not settling and you're not feeling good about it, go ahead and pull her if you're able to. Mom knows best. If you do go that route, you can look on Facebook for nanny groups in your area and interview people to find the right fit. Make sure they're CPR certified and set hard boundaries to make sure you get the care you want. I hope this helps! The daycare world is so new to littles who have only known mama or siblings before. Remember you call the shots! You're her advocate and you know what she needs more than anyone else ❤

Getting them engaged with toys helps your child feel comfy before you go. The idea with getting them engaged is that their teacher doesn't have a chance to speak with you because they've got their hands full with other kids. These tips also cover a range of ages too. 7 to 1 ratio ?! That is insane. There is no way one person can adequately take care of 7 toddlers under 3 years at the same time. In Germany, we have a 3 to 1 ratio.

Respectful disagree. Not everyone can afford to stay home with their kids and there are amazing daycares out there.

Songs songs and more SONGS. Put your embarrassment away and sing interactive songs with them. My favorite is Hermy the worm. Look up songs with hand motions in your spare time and memorize them to sing with the kids. 2 year olds LOVE singing with hand motions. If that fails, finger painting on the table is always a major win. Or wet the table down and squirt some Johnson and Johnson soap on it and rub it around so they can play in the bubbles (art smocks recommended lol!) If you're able to sneak an extra recess, that helps too. Outside is a magic fix for a lot of kids

If you haven't already look up Pete the Cat books. When I taught daycare those were life savers too. The books have songs you sing in them. Pete's new shoes was my class favorite
