yes they do get help with the editing/arragenment. and jae has actually said before on radio that he thinks some of their songs can be arrange/edited better in terms of the instrumentals and their balance etc, so its cool how you, yunyi and kevin picked up on that too haha. and i completely agree. a good example would be their song 'my day'. it sounds amazing live but the studio ver just doesnt do it justice. but yea all their songs are amazing nontheless :)

actually this sounds like a movie soundtrack that is played for the final credits. it's just have that feeling.

OKAY SO CAN WE JUST talk about their harmonic choices thoo??? Like i know DAY6 is a rock band but their harmonic choices are always so jazz-standard-like which I LOVE, especially all of those harmonic turn-arounds in the prechorus, I only EVER hear jazz cats use "three" chords like YESS. And during the chorus what sounded like a secondary dominant just gave SO much color to the melody (also the chorus throws me back to like 2006 when Disney music was all pop-rock lol). And during the brdige and think they used an augmented sixth and if they did that is a WOW because no one uses augmented sixth chords liiiike...and how they switched to half time in the prechorus and the second verse was just a YES. Everything about them is a YESSS. Gosh I stanned them since before debut and I'm so freaking happy right now their music just get's better and better

I was counting the seconds to the release of Dance Dance and let me say this mv is amazing. It's just them being dorks, but that's what makes is so good, they're being themselves.

I love a lot of different kpop, but what I love about day6 is that they're that reminder of "this is why we do music" Everything is so casual they don't work for the wins but rather because it's fun and the fans love it. You can tell from this mv just them dancing randomly, annoying each other, and playing on each others instrument. Also they're so talented every month on vlive they just create music using comments as lyrics and they all turn out amazing. I think I saw somewhere that they usually finish a song in 2-3 days, one day for melody, and another for lyrics and maybe another for detail touches. I glad they're finally getting recognize.

I don't know anything about musicology, but I really like reactions videos with actual reactions. I cannot even say I am learning anything as I can not hear the difference between major and minor chords or have no idea what "flat 7" means, but I keep watching all your reaction videos. long life to ReacttotheK

I really enjoyed your reaction! I know that DAY6 does most of their songwriting-- both the lyrics and the actual music. It seems like they usually have help with the arrangements (correct me if I'm wrong, KZreadrs), but I don't know much about the editing/production.

Hello, a lil bit of information that I know is because everyday6 is so hectic since they write, make and release two songs every single month and also promoting them on music show since march songs, they leave the mastering to their studio staff. Aaaand thank you for loving Day6 Umu! ❤❤❤

Day6 compose, produce and arrange their own songs sometimes other producers/composers helps them, but mostly its the members that do most of it and Brian/YoungK compose most of their songs and they also di their own lyrics and stuff

Watching you fangirl flail (yes, this is a term that I just pulled out of thin air, unless I didn't and am copying it from somewhere that I don't realize o.o) gives me so much joy because I love love love DAY6 and all of the songs they have released especially with the EveryDAY6 stuff so far. Keep doing what your doing, your reactions are great and I love the Classical Musicians React videos! It's incredibly satisfying to watch open minded musically inclined people give honest reactions to KPop, especially when the song does something weird and/or awesome and they/you flip your collective shits.

I love how your reactions relate to the music theory aspect of the song as well as what an average react video would have! It makes me feel cool when I understand a lot what you mean now that I've taken a theory class. They write some of their own songs (not sure about all), and I'm fairly certain this one was written by the bassist.

yes, Day6 does write all of their own music. they have people to help them produce and edit their songs, but they are always involved in the process of all of their songs. and that single line subbed in japanese tells us that Jae was subbing this in his sleep.

Jae speaks fluent Japanese, but only when he's sleeping. sometimes Sungjin is going around the dorm at night to check on everyone and he just hears Jae muttering stuff in Japanese.

Don't forget to listen to their other tracks as well. Even though the title tracks are all really good, there are some gems in their albums. My favorite song by Day6 of all time is still Colors from their first mini-album. :)

Man same, Umu, ReacttotheK is responsible for so many of my recent obsessions. Your fault btw. But I've also become REALLY super interested in learning how to make arrangements, even tough I don't know much music theory. I've played the guitar for nine years now, so I have some practical knowledge but very little theoretical, and these videos pushed me to do some research. I've actually managed to arrange a little bit with the theory I heard from you guys ^^' Still, I have so much to learn, but hopefully one day I'll manage something cool!

Day6 makes their own music. I think they work with other people while in the process of making their songs. :)

day6 do write their own music! mostly brian, but sungjin, wonpil, and jae do a lot of composing too! i don't know if they mix their own tracks, i know brian has experience in self-producing and stuff but i don't know if he did it for day6's older stuff. however for all the every day6 stuff etc etc, i believe brian helped produce a lot of the tracks on here? in the sunrise album teaser/whatever he was credited for producing on a few songs, but i don't know if i'm remembering wrong.
