Is anyone gonna talk about how the instrumentals sound here too? Like the original had that brighter electric guitar hittin high notes and keeping the mood lighter and here Sungjin's raspiness and that lower electric guitar are just taking turns beating up your feelings.

@@ahgastayrohaday9988 ooo you are right! the drums are more prominent here. i think in general whoever mixed it dampened the lower frequencies and took the punch out of the drums in favor of the higher electric and acoustic guitars. this one literally hits (your ears) differently and i love it too ^_^

It hits different after Jae told us that Sungjin's voice wasn't raspy, but was originally clear, but he had to make it so coz they told them each one of them has to have a signature voice. So he not only practiced the guitar only 3 months before debut, he also had to change his voice. Makes me respect and love him even more if that's even possible ❤️

I think what Jae said was, they need to have a signature voice in the group (not each one of them have to have a signature voice) and everybody else's voice is too clear. So Sungjin had to become the 'Bruno Mars' of the group as quoted by Jae. I think I get it, it's like how Daughtry have Chris, The Beatles have John Lennon and Coldplay have Chris Martin. It's the signature voice that makes them stand out. And Sungjin took that role. And he kills it!

I was like "WHYS THIS PHONE NOT WORKING!"

It's crazy how a pitch black video receives 2M views within a year. A proof that vocal indeed speaks. Btw, I'm so stunned at the massive brassy guitar line at the chorus. It represents and compliments Sungjin's vocal perfectly. Now I kinda wish they had it more in the official song😭

그냥 검정 화면에 한글로 가사만 나오는 것조차 완벽한 영상임

Jae and Young K really werent lying when they said this is better than the day6 version. I mean that with all the respect to our day6 babies, Sungjin's solo just brings out a different feel to the song.

Bro, a black screen made me feel more than a lot of expensive MV's out there nowadays

I'm OT5 for life...but this song is pure, raw and belongs to Sungjin. I have tears on my goosebumps. I recall reading that about this guide audio; Jae said he heard it and immediately insisted this was a song he felt had to be kept as only Sungjin, but that Sungjin insisted on splitting the vocals. I'm so grateful to have this version that I only have imagined since I read about it.

Coming back here to reminisce the moment where Park Sungjin is slowing down to focus on betterment of himself 😭😭😭 look at him now, he cameback stronger ng ever 😭😭😭 you've come so far our dearest leader, we're so proud of you.

The demon album desc on apple music: Jae: "Sungjin wrote this one. When we heard it, we're like, 'You're going solo, bro. It's so good.' It kind of goes back to the roots of DAY6. It's very modern-rock, emotional song, real gritty at the hook. Even the lyrics are very pretty." Young K: "It's talking about: 'I'm afraid I'm taking so many chances in your life.' Like I'm no good for you." And in some videos the boys talk about the demo as well. And now it's finally happening. Both versions of afraid are so good omg. I mean the final version is already amazing and make me feel the emotion. But this version is so raw and more painful and personal bcs Sungjin sang it himself, and I'm in pain ;'((( The boys really mean it when they talk about how good it is. 왜 이렇게 좋은 목소리..... 성진만 노래하는데 그와중애 다양한 목소리가 담겨 있어서 너무 좋고 너무너무 감정이입해서 들을 때마다 마음이 흔들고 눈물이 난다,,,, 너무 좋다 계속 듣고싶어 그리고 보고싶다

성진 버전의 Afraid 곡 가이드로 들으면서 성진 솔로앨범을 여전히 몇 년째 기다리고 있는 1인.

YES!!!!

I finally understand what this is after listening to it over and over again. It's a vicious cycle of bearing the pain of dealing with your fears alone and the fear of inflicting that pain to the people you love. Edit: I love the difference between Day6 Ver and this one. With Day6's, it comes with the courage to speak up and ask for help. I just hope more people find this courage to talk to someone about their pain. But until they do, I hope more people could find the patience and not quit on their person.
