What I’m starting to accept is I’m going to need multiple monitors with a different strategy setup on each one, then watch all of them at the open to see which one is the soup of the day. Here’s exactly what you’re talking about, the other day I was playing engulfing candles only on the 2 minute chart and was killing it. The next day, the exact same strategy and mindset, every engulfing candle failed. I think an issue overall is that we traders are trying to insert rationality and consistency into an environment where neither one of those exist. No matter how you slice it trading the market is a total mind f***.

Aaah let's dig through this. Whenever I see a notification I stope whatever I was doing for the next 15 minutes first. Only after I am done watching do I proceed again.

There is no edge. They can't let you run away with the money, if it was so easy nobody would get to work. I'm 5 years on searching, and still the market is always surprising me and i never can't get a edge on it.

I agree with your points. I would add that it is useful to calibrate your tools specifically. For ex for a day trader, by using timeframes that make sense at that time, shorter at Wall-Street open, and longer when the market slows down. Or looking for indicators settings that show something specific, like a stochastic leaving overbought/sold period, that actually works for the market you're interested in. And when that's properly done, then make sense of the chart as a whole, before considering a trade.

I have figured out techniques that I've never seen taught in any course or on any video that work really well - but I had to go thru about every course out there and every video out there to get the basics before I could develop my own unique discoveries. There is no one way to trade but there are certain particular principles for success that can not change

ICT is a derivative of price action. And price movements hasn't changed. The market literally does the same things over and over every single day year after year. Perhaps because yall confusing yourself with all these new concepts you forgot that humans are the ones trading the market and price action shows human psychology. Also successful traders rely on 1 strategy mainly then tweak and improve as they gain experiece trading it. They don't switch up.

Up to 80% of trading is now AI and algorithms. I can’t say how to profit from this but I think you’re right in that sentiment, a very human emotion, still seems to be a powerful influence in the market.

@@Aranarth Those algorithms were programmed by humans who most likely understands new trader psychology else those algorithms don't work. So pretty much they are created to exploit/ take advantage of human pyschology and therefore won't act much different. Just a tool. Some of these influencers will have you believe that the market is out to get you specifically but that's not true, most people just don't understand how to read the market to react to it and enter and exit at the right time. Instead they just acting on impulse and emotion

I’m a pharmacist with a doctors degree that took 8 years of blood sweat and tears to achieve. I’ve been trading for just over a year and I’m profitable, but I’ve never had to work harder to earn a dollar in all of my life than I have with trading. Swing trading and position trading has worked best for me, where I can dollar cost average into a stock and actually profit from volatility and being more familiar with a stock over time.

For me, it's the ability to NOT trade is the strength. It is knowing that what you are looking at is NOT valid for entry. The entries and exits start showing themselves much easier if you can see the rest of the time when you shouldn't enter. (If all this makes sense).

No, there is always a fight between bulls and bears, so there is NO clear move that's why you enter too late. It's never clear. Even a strong move can be in fact weak, because it's a rally. so you have to go to short TF to find clues

The stock markets offers you trade opportunities and you should take it. But you should also be strict and let go when that offer expires. Greed will make us hold trades beyond what is offered, and expect irrational math. This type of trading requires you to be extremely strict and accept what’s offered, not what you want. Strict also unfortunately means boring and mentally challenging because you become a machine, but.. you will do better. There’s a reason why certain drugs are popular on Wall Street.. to cope with this.. day after day

Seriously im about 1 Month in Trading and thought to myself that static strategies wont work in a ever changing market. Instead have Strategies for Scenarios like when market is on an uptrend or downtrend or consolidating. If you just stay on one strategy for every market scenario you miss a lot of good trades. I tried to only trade reversals and backtested it a lot and found out that this makes absolutely no sense in a trending market. Not when you swing trade at least. You just wait and wait and wait for the PERFECT signs when there is a potential reversal while when you look at the history, market was moving up the whole time (of course with some liquidation runs) and you were just sitting there waiting for a miracle to happen. Instead you just could have gone with the flow of the market and accept what it tells you to do.
