Thanks for the video, Ruchi. I grew up in Changchun, Jilin and living in Seattle now. When I grew up, I never explored any place outside of the city. It is an eye opener for me to see the town life of Huaide for the first time although the name was so familiar as it was always the first train stop (Gongzhuling) to Beijing. Kudos also for showing ordinary Chinese people's life. I am in IT business and have a lot of Indian engineers around me and we get along well. Normal people are pretty mush the same in every country that we all just want to live a peaceful life. Let's not hate each other for issues that politicians need to sort out. Especially for ordinary people in developing countries like India and China, problem like poverty and social injustice are far more impactful than a few stones in no man's land.

In spite of being a small village ,the roads and infrastructure are so good. What surprises me is that China more populated than India , still roads give deserted look. Why people dont come out onto the roads? But we are able explore China through your eyes and slowly we started realizing that people in China are leading as good life as India or else where the world with no iron curtain as being projected by media.

1/ historically, northeast part of China is much less populated than in the southern part, especially from Shanghai and around, because of cold climate. 2/ the region is economically less developed. so many young people left to work in other cities and return to home only during Chinese new year. This is the case for Odin as well.

Love this vlog! The town or city? maybe small by comparison to other Chinese cities, but it is beautiful! I notice that even in the smaller places, the streets are well swept and kept clean. Really clean and peaceful. I don't mind living there! Wow, the malatang looks so yummy!I love 豆腐泡 too and could eat it for the whole day too! We also have it here in Malaysia and they go very well with the local curry noodles looking much like the malatang except perhaps less spicy. Mushrooms are also one of my own favourities, especially the shitake mushrooms which have medicinal value too boot. Try them. You will learn to love them!

Anika Sharma: There is a whole treatise of nutrition known as the "China Study" regarding how eating mostly vegetables, low fat and low meat, people have very low instances of diseases and live long and which is changing with the introduction of Western diet (in China and other Asian countries) which is causing diabetes, heart disease, cancer etc. A lot of modern scholars try to debunk that as low-carb is in vogue these days, but that is a solid scientific work. China has more than twice the consumption of vegetable per day as compared to India, and also meat. But dairy consumption is only one fourth that of India.

wala wala not really, per capita, Chinese people eat more fruits and veg than rest of the world. Here is a natgeo sourcewww.nationalgeographic.com/what-the-world-eats/. India’s veg consumption is also less than China. There are a lot of regions cold enough that they can’t grow veggies unlike India where meat consumption is a lot more. From my personal experience of traveling around, this is what I have seen.I was talking about proportions in the meal and not the weight of the ingredients. Also, meat tends to be heavier than veggies in that case and veggies lose water while cooking. It is too complicated. Lets not go into it lolp

But it is true many people, especially those born before 1990s, in small towns or non-first-tier cities in China, do not want to fasten seat belts while driving, which is not good. Anyway, have a nice day.
