Thanks for the comment. Not super human, but maybe more like a renaissance man. I like that better. It means I am still mortal.

Day in the life of a contractor good video, I remember it well when I was doing fire and flood restoration 5 to 10 jobs at once, 7 am picking up materials and up till midnight doing bids. Most people and employees have no idea how much it takes. But I didn't have a cow to milk. Is that a jersey? I was raised on a dairy farm.

Thanks for the comment. Not sure what breed of cow. Here name is daisy, though.

Excellent video, thank you. It was fun to tag along with you to your sites. An old-timer once told me, “people don’t do what you EXpect… people do what you INspect.” I see you agree on some level and keep an eye on things as they move along. I think the quality control is critical to getting the results you are looking for. Great video, thanks again.

Great content, Keith. Esp interested in the communication between yourself & contractors, as I can see that being an often important weak point to get better at! If you're up for a vid series suggestion, maybe showing these & following up with a walk-through of your thoughts on each conversation? It'd be like vicarious experience for us, & we all know experience is a great teacher. :)

Great insight to what you do. Looks fun! I'm looking to get into general contracting as well. Do you have any advice on how to get started? Do you recommend specializing in any trade to start?

Cow is not mine. I belong to a cow co-op where we all take turns milking.

Hey Keith, I have a question for you. How is it that a company that specializes in a trade (Lets say Drywall) is able to work for a general contractor like yourself? What are the steps that company has to take in order to work for you? I would really appreciate your response thank you.

First, make contact in email and give your full contact info, and I mean full contact info. Make it easy for the builder to add your info to his or her contact list. Maybe send an email first and then follow up with a text, but in that text make sure you are sharing your full profile. And make sure the profile is complete with logo, web, email etc. I get numbers all the time and I have to plug it in and I have no time for this. Second, find a way to meet face to face. Third, learn to network Fourth, send a monthly email asking for plans to bid, and indicate you get gets back within 48 hours. Hope that helps
