Congratulations! I am applying for PTA school this September. Hoping I get in. I have wanted to do this so badly but I never had the funds nor the time . But 2021 is the year. I saved enough money and will become a licensed PTA. Do you have any advice for me? ☺️

I would love to address this in a video, but to sum it up...I want to be able to perform evaluations / create the POC and goals with the patient.

Hi, I love this video! It was so very helpful. I am currently in my last year of a sociology degree and want to go to PTA school. Would you recommend finishing my degree or am I wasting my time? Would my degree make me at all more hirable?

Was it easy to find/get a job as a PTA and would you be able to share your salary/how much you make and what benefits you receive from your job? I'm thinking of doing this as a career to increase my salary so that my hubby and I can buy a house, i just want some type of job security and me being 26 it's kind of late for me to go to a 4 year school and take on debt, plus I've been looking at job shadowing for my local hospital and my husband's cousins is a physical therapist so I might be able to shadow with him. Also I'm so glad now I am vaccinated for covid and before that I got covid in 2020 so it was super scary! Love your vlogs BTW.

Thanks so much for reaching out! I was so fortunate enough to get a job that I had a clinical rotation at so I didn’t have much trouble searching, but two years later I’m in a new city and had to find a job here! That info will be in an upcoming vlog but thankfully with this job there is job security. I guess it depends on your area for job availability but there’s plenty of settings you can go into (outpatient, hospital, skilled nursing, home health etc). As for salary I would look up the salary in your area. I would definitely recommend shadowing a PTA to see what you would be doing in that role and then look into a community college for PTA programs. This is such a wonderful field and profession to help patients through movement🤍 lmk if you have anymore qs!

Hey girlie! I did my "social media" jobs, but did not work elsewhere! I had classmates who worked part time until clinical rotations our second year. I think some even worked during that but not full time i don't think.

Hi, I have some questions about PTA. I am a senior in high school looking into colleges and I don’t know what program to do to become a PTA. I have been looking into university and most of them only have PT . So my question is do I do PT or is it a different program I can take ?

It's different. I'm in Indiana and only 4 schools offer it. U Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, UIndy, the Ivy Tech branch in Muncie, and Vincennes University. USF wants an essay and recommendations but no prereqs. The rest require prereqs to be considered and you still may not get in on their point system. Do a search for PTA in (your state).

I’m sorry I don’t feel comfortable sharing but I would definitely look up the average salary for PTAs in your area ☺️ it also depends on area, the setting, position (Full time, part time)
